We pay £0.80 per litre, that's nearly £3.50 for a real gallon or about $5.50 and you are complaining about paying less than $2????

I have to buy premium and it costs $2/gallon right now. Fortunately I get decent gas mileage.

We complain because we drive cars or SUV's that get about 13 miles to the gallon! I just went to the gas station today (Sheetz) and paid 1.74 and I was very sad

It's now at 85.4 cents a litre for the regular unleaded gasoline.

Europeans do indeed pay much more than those of us here in the US...but most of that is in taxes...they're not really paying more for gas...they're paying a hell of a lot more tax.
Considering in 1973 Gas was right at $1 (during the oil embargo) and given the historical price...Gas has remained relatively unaffected by inflation...perhaps they're playing catchup...part of the issue too is the different regulatory requirements different states...and even cities have...that too is driving up the price of gas.

Yeah, but we're also paying about $150.00 a WEEK for health insurance.

Shoot, with the US invasion of Iraq for all of it's oil I thought for certain we'd have cheaper gas here in the States. Dam, who do we need to invade next? Mexico should be a push over. Time to rally the troops!
