I don't even know how to keep score.
Anyone else play? Any pointers?

I used to play a little tennis, but I got frustrated and gave up, cause no matter how good you are, you will NEVER be as good as a wall. Have you ever played a wall at tennis? They're f*cking relentless.

I love tennis, maybe if my parents would have got me lessions I could have been really good at it. My tip, besides getting lessions before bad habits are established, is you have to practice alot. We live in Seattle, and with the rainy weather we play alot for a few months then wait months for a sunny day. You have to be consistent to really improve. Great exercise though...and very humbling.
Thanks for the hints, Sabine.....we will need lots and lots of practice....

I used to date someone who taught me tennis but we broke up and I haven't played since. I loved the game. I also like ping-pong a lot. I hate most sports, but I love those two games.
Love the game! Have on the NASDAQ 100 right now! Watch the Tier One Matches and in no time you'll figure out scoring. I take time off work for the Grand Slams! Maverick
I have a clay tennis court and my wife and I play every day. We also have lessons for the children ( who do not always like to play) and one of those ball throwing machines to practice with.
If you like the game, take lessons. The more you play the better you will become. A clay court is a slower game than an asphalt court. It takes time to develop the skill; but like riding a bike, you will never forget.
Not a big fan of tennis, or golf, or baseball, or soccer. I only like FOOTBALL, Hockey when it is live, bull riding and Nascar racing. I do not like to participate in any sport other than volleyball. I also like swimming and hiking. That's about it.
We used to play all the time. I took lessons, and found out it isn't like badminton.
We loved the game though and all the kids played too. Now I think I am too old to move fast enough to be any good at it. I heard an aging tennis star say that you lose the ability to move fast from side to side, as you age. I had to quit playing when I started having bad back problems. My back isn't bad anymore, but still weak, and I am so out of practice. I might try it again one day though.
