I was careful what I said to her. I was honest, but not ugly. Her husband *not a j.w.* is a principal at the local highschool and has helped me get a job subbing, so I didn't want to make waves. I'm learning to pick my battles and she's not one of them. After she left, after talking to her, or I should say, listening to her j.w bullcrap, I was sick to my stomach. I can't stand to listen to them talk, I literally cringe. I still can't believe she was a witness!!! lol I'm glad I can have a sense of humor about the whole thing.

I do appreciate all the input.

ahhh Tinkerbell.. that really sucks! I think if that ends up happening to me.. (I moved two hours away too for the same reason).. I won't even say a word about ever being a witness. I want my life.. one without that shunning.. dang.. I feel bad you are treated that way now!

Thanks Sassy, I'm okay though. I had to tell her though, our friendship was growing and I had to be honest with her. Also, to be honest with ya, after hearing she was a witness, I actually wanted to shun her! I don't want to be around a witness, ever! They can shun me all they want, I just shun them right back!

Tink, who knows..maybe you shook her idea of what an ex-witness is.

The next time she hears the WT bologna about how terrible people are that are no longer witnesses, she might think of you and your budding friendship.

You might have put a human face on an abstract WT stereotype!

    Peace!

I'll say, Tinkerbell - wow, too bad. She probably had "Bible Study" lights in her eyes, and you just saw someone who seemed nice, and familiar.

    Sorry though.

Thanks guys for your comments! Actually I think it's kinda funny now! I'm glad I kept my cool with her and showed her that even and ol apostate can be civilized!

well now you will just be this NORMAL NICE neighbor she will see at a distance.. Maybe over time she will see that you didn't go all evil (tee hee)..

I just hate that she will spread it to the cong through and they all keep a watch out for the DA'd one in town.. you have a right to your own life.. w/o the shun.. just my 2 cents..

Exactly! She may eventually remember how she had no problem talking to a total stranger that she knew was not a JW. She may remember the budding friendship that was taking place. She may also remember that the thoughts in her mind during this time was that she was just being nice in the hopes that she would open you up to accepting the JW nonsense. But when she found out you were a DA'd JW then she changed her attitude and treated you like you had the plague. Absolutley nothing changed. She knew you weren't a JW before. The only difference is that she now knows that you USED to be a JW. So it shouldn't make any difference, whether you never were or used to be, you still AREN"T one now. Maybe she'll remember all of this and think back on the friendship she threw away and the person she made to feel like dirt.
