What I understand Norway JW done this better then in Sweden, in Norway it is a law to tell the goverment if you new something about sex abuse, in Sweden it is not.

When the Swedish TV program was send in Norway it was no reaktion att all, what I heard, beacause in Norway the elders are forced to tell.

I new this from my freind how live i Norway, they say it was not any reaktion in Norway congs when this program was send, it was fare diffrent in Sweden, wher this program was going lika a choch wave in several congs.

At the time being I can't give you any details - since it's not clear what will happen to the case. If the congregation will react (Yeah - sure!) I will see what happens. If not, they might find themselves in a difficult situation. News about this case can be leaked to media and police - and a message about it on this forum doesn't help the "loving" brothers and sisters in South Telemark a whole lot.

I'll keep you posted. My sources are solid....

    What are your solid sources . . . ?

    <h3>Hi all</a>

Thanks, Simon. I'm fine, but extremely busy. Had quite a lot of probs with my PCs due to thunder and lightening, which fried 3 of my PCs - unfortunately.

What I understand Norway JW done this better then in Sweden, in Norway it is a law to tell the goverment if you new something about sex abuse, in Sweden it is not.

Not long ago the Watchtower - according to the Norwegian newspaper VG - repported a child abuse case. That's - as far as I know - the first time the Watchtower has done anything like that - and it's quite clear it's because of added pressure the last year.

When the Swedish TV program was send in Norway it was no reaktion att all, what I heard, beacause in Norway the elders are forced to tell.
Actually, it was. Many papers mentioned this, and journalists were allerted. So, when a friend of mine - Roar Henriksen - just published a new book called "Gud bor i Brooklyn" (God lives in Brooklyn) it reached lots of newspapers and national TV. This because of this TV program made it more easy to take up the subject of the JWs again.

I new this from my freind how live i Norway, they say it was not any reaktion in Norway congs when this program was send, it was fare diffrent in Sweden, wher this program was going lika a choch wave in several congs.
Probably not in the congs, since they have been rather sheltered the last years. A few years back it was a hell of a lot of writings about the JWs - and, as a matter of fact, it still is. A search in Norwegian papers will show you there are "tons" of articles about JWs and paedophiles - and Norwegian cases about this. So, the JWs doesn't have a "good time" in Norway - and they are loosing members for every year. I also happen to know that "Fylkesmannen i Oslo og Akershus" - the governmental office that has to do with registration of religious churches and so on, has something coming up. They are perfectly aware the Watchtower gets paid for about 15.700 members - while the official figure in the Watchtower is about 6.000 less. They also know "publishers" will be publishers at a very young age, and as such the Norwegian JWs have to have 6.000 children below 6 years of age! Yeah - sure! Anyway, keep up the good work, folks!

Hi Kent, welcome to the forum.

I do not think anyone in the USA will be phased by this sex scandal ( hey, in New York, you can get sex scandal wholesale).

What rankled everyones case about the Catholic Church is that innocent children were involved and victimized. People get very upset when children are involved. If it had been nuns that these priests were diddling with; no one would have cared.

    Hi Kent,

Good to hear from you again. Thought about you recently because your site was one of my first apostate contacts when I still was an apologetic voice. :-).

What does this mean? Does the watchtower get money from the government depending on how many members it has?
