Great pic. I'm jealous you got to go there - big SW fan since I was a young thing.
I went there just after Phantom Menace premiered. It is supposedly hidden away in a secret location in Marin County, except it is on Lucas Freaking Valley Road....however, supposedly it was already named that before George moved in. It's about halfway up on the righthand side at a nondescript gate, that they gotta then buzz you in, then you drive quite a way in to a checkpoint where they then have to phone whoever invited you to confirm you are a guest. Then you drive a little way until you see the big white ranch house and all the adjoining red brick buildings. Dennie showed me their tiny little sound foley studio with tons of different kinds of shoes and surfaces and a bathtub, etc. It's all old fashioned radio theatre sound stuff. Here is the webpage on Dennie and what they do:

You can also see her in the Jurassic Park DVD Special Features. I then got to see various modeling and art departments, and in the ranch house there is a magnificent library that is chock full of books on fashion, wardrobe, etc. and people were in there designing clothes for some movie....It was all pretty kewl. Seeing the light sabers, the ATATs, Luke Skywalker's mechanical hand, and especially all the awesome Indiana Jones stuff was my highlight.
Aww, Little Toe.... It's not my favorite pic tho, by any means...
Try these (still not my favorites):
Edited: Nah, I'll get some better ones later....
Damn! I missed my 9 minute window of opportunity
Congratulations Leolaia
May the Force be with you
Leolaia,
So, how did a nice young ex-JW lady like yourself become such a hardcore fan girl and meet all these fascinating people?

Pretty much knowing one person leading to another and so forth (my s/o is a techie). It's a lame answer, I know, but that's how it happens. Last month I had dinner with the real "inventor of the internet" (no joke) and he had just seen the Passion and started talking about it and then I got going about the Bible and he was genuinely fascinated and had like a million questions for me... ;) And then he had dinner with us again the next week and this time it was at my home, and so I was able to bust out all my books and show him this 'n that....it was fun, especially since I never had the opportunity to talk all this great stuff in person...
Leolila
You're living a geek's dream...please tell me you RPG too!
A ha, I haven't rpg'd since high school (star trek rpg).....
Leolaia, I've said this before, and I'll say it again:
