Food glorious food...

    A friend (and fellow scuba diver) brought me some fresh scallops, tonight - so fresh they were still in the shells.
    I fried them with some mushrooms.

    Now I'm enjoying some fresh bread - boy do I love bread!

    What's your favourite fresh food?

    I love shrimp!!! But I must admit fresh any fresh seafood is the best!!!

    I love freshly baked bread. When the kids were younger and I didn't work I used to bake at least one loaf each day. Just the aroma alone. Shrimp, lobster, pasta are a few favourites. I've made manicotti (ricotta cheese filled) with tomatoes from my garden. The best I ever had. Add some bread and a glass of wine, wonderful. I'm not the greatest cook but I can put together a good meal when I'm in the mood. I have learned to make a good Dutch vegetable soup. It has tiny meatballs. That with a loaf bread, really good. Salads- vegetable and fresh fruit salad. You'd think I would be overweight but thankfully I'm not. I just try not to overdo it.

    OMG LT, you dive? You HAVE to come to Orcas. Huge weeklong 'fest on Orcas Island in the San Juans in Washington State. www.westbeachresort.com Anyway, several divers in the bunch. My husband and brother dove several times last year at Orcas including a wall dive and some beach dives. Steve just sent an email inquiring about a wreck dive in British Columbia (short boat ride from the resort) that they want to go on this year.

    We'll tell you more about it in Dallas. If not this year, then next maybe. It's an annual thing.

    We are always looking for divers. Oh and crab is my favorite fresh food. We eat so much of it at Orcas that by the end of the week I choose the chicken for dinner and leave crab for the new arrivals. I love fresh baked bread too but I make it every few days so it's no big deal anymore. Mmm, and fresh pie. I have a rhubarb pie in the oven right now. Just picked it from my dad's garden this morning.

    Not necessarily fresh... but freshly roasted chicken, with mayonnaise, on fresh baked bread... MMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmm

    I used to teach it (as an Advanced Instructor with the Bristish Sub-Aqua Club - CMAS 3 Star), but gave it up when it was suggested that it was hindering my apointment as an Elder. Lo and behold, within six months of suffering that imposition, I was appointed

    Now I mainly dive on vacations. I should get back into it properly, really, as the West coast of Scotland is fantastic!

    I can't make that trip this year, as my vacation time is all accounted for, but I'll sure keep it in mind.

    Maine Lobster landed at the harbor side in Kennebunkport, ME (especially if George Bush Senior comes out and says HI - with the Secret Service in tow of course)

    I have a friend who makes the most heavenly crepes for breakfast....with a sprinkle of sugar and lemon....uuuummm uummm ummmmm
