If he came with the view of reporting you to the JC,he would have NOT come on is own.
So, therfore it is left with the BOY=GIRL, situation.
You dont say if he is single and you dont say if you are aviable??

Euphemism
You know, there really are Witnesses who are genuinely concerned and caring about people (although unfortunately, even many of those will turn on you when they realize that you are not just "stumbled", but are actually full-blown "apostate"). You say that he was the only one who helped you out when you needed it, so it sounds like he may be one of those.
And of course, if that is the case, it doesn't rule out a possible romantic motive. There are plenty of guys out there with savior complexes. (I know, I used to be one of them myself.) Which goes quite well with the Witness idea that women are weak and need "spiritual headship".
All I can say, it sounds like this is a personal initiative on his part, not anything according to Witness policy. So think of him as a human being, not as a drone.

I believe that there are some sincere and kind people in the borg. and perhaps this individual may be sincerely concerned about you.

"With great curiosity, I hear about those that caused me and my family so much pain and the circumstances that have caused them to be relgated to the ranks of being 'marked'."
Was this an official or unofficial marking? If official, did they change the rules on this? It was my understanding that they don't mark people anymore. But I have been out for a couple of years now...

Very interesting....
1) An MS would not be directed to visit you and discuss these things, especially alone. So he came of his own free will.
2) He is actually going out on a limb because if you were to talk to the elders about this visit he would be in spiritual ca ca.
Sounds like he is truly a caring person who feels this is Gods Organization and the only reason you left was that you were stumbled by certain individuals who have now received their just rewards. He may have thought telling you this in private would convince you or persuade you to come back...like the, see Jehovah dealt with it in due time attitude, now will you come back kinda deal.

Surreptitious
Shotgun's two points are spot on. I lean towards 69's explanation.
Did he ever leave the doorstep, as in come inside?

Thanks everybody for your responses.
I tend to be thinking along similar lines as shotgun. Perhaps this was an attempt at letting me know that Jehovah has cleaned up the congregation, blah, blah, blah! In any event and which ever way he/they choose to look at/interpret it, there is not a chance that I would ever return to a group of people so insensitive and ignorant of basic human needs/rights.
I agree with many others here that the guy that visited is obviously 'not like the rest' in many ways.
Suppose I was just a bit puzzled and paranoid as it was so much out of the blue. Ah well who knows?

Cicatrix,
I'm not too sure anymore on the JW definition of official or unofficial marking? I'm just repeating what was said to me. No mention of any announcements were made or anything like that. Although there were, (in the conversation) some references to local needs talks and bad association. He also said that the elders were keeping a very close eye on 'the situation'!
I wouldn't go so far as to say that he was talking in riddles, but I suppose like many of the JWs that we all know, there is almost always a kind of shrouded, mysterious way of sharing information with others....so they can slag people off but not be accused of it!
