and it made me feel odd, unnerved.
I haven't been to a meeting for two years now and am quite anti JW but this still felt odd, to see her wearing a cross. I am not sure why? any ideas?

Those silly old doctrines... they take ages to get rid of.
I don't like crosses either, really. But cest-la vie.
I suggest you go get yourself a big ole crucifix, and an egyptian ankh. Get a couple to wear on your neck also, and some buddhist prayer beads. After a while of seeing that no harm comes from this stuff you wont be shocked anymore:)
I might add some tarot cards to the mix. Perhaps a Ouige board. Try prayin to someone Like Osiris also. You will find he answers your prayers as often as Jehovah does.
a cross is a cross is a cross is a cross.
a circle is a circle is a circle is a circle.
a square is a square is a square is a square.
The only "power" it has, good or bad, is what YOU give it, otherwise it's just a doo-dad.
For many people the cross is just a fashion accessory. Mel Gibson's movie, "Passion of the Christ," is making them even more popular right now.
No one knows the shape of the instrument Christ died on. The only important thing is that he died.
its the JW brainwashing that's making you feel like that. In time you'll get over it. As someone said earlier, a cross is a cross, whatever meaning it has is what you give to it.
holy crap dude. you know what you aughta do? you aughta take that hurt full hate full symbol of war and malice away from her befor she learns religion. by the way there is no bias in my opinion.
sincerly,
the angry atheist.
I think it's just jewelery for women. Personally, i think crosses are a cool pattern, and you know how unreligious i am. The ankh is even cooler. Though i don't wear any jewelry, tatoos, etc. A

why the hell would she wear one? with all the nice jewelry out there.
it doesn't matter...crosses are almost universal and far from being Christian inventions...sheesh...every rebellious child will do something they haven't done before...I chose skulls and skateboard crap and then crosses when I could get away with it...no biggie...if she likes them then so be it...it isn't like she's a Cstholic School Girl...
Sincerely,
