Does anyone know what the special talk was today?

  My cult minded husband hurried out the door this morning say'ing there was a special talk today.

  The way you described your hubby kls reminded me of how I was when there was something "new" going to be said from the platform.

  I guess now I can see just how much JW's ( myself included back then) were hungering so much for some spiritual revelation to be told, or just to hear something new, something that we needed but were not getting.

  I basically feel the same way as far as spiritual hunger, but at least now I know it is up to me to seek it out, instead of having someone dictate it to me from the platform.

  It is really sad and even silly to me now that I once believed that a few men on the GB, had all the answers straight from God himself.

  kls, my h did the same thing. I'm still waiting on his return. My uneducated guess would be that the GB is trying to counteract all of the negative exposure lately by giving a "special talk" about the severe persection going on in these last days against God's people. Just a thought. Let us know what you hear. Kib

  The talk was on the theme "Do What We Say and No One Will Get Hurt."

  I haven't been to the hall in a few years now. But the "Special Talk" was only special in that it was a new outline, and to be given to all congregations (except for those at circuit assemblies, who'd get it a week later) in the world.

  There was nothing special about the information itself. It's just another 45-minute public talk, yadda, yadda.

  Gopher , are you kidding, that was it ? Sounds like they were trying to sucker people in with the SPECIAL crap . Thanks i thought the end was comming again.
