Finding a man was always one of the biggest problems In wt due to many factors

My last hall had 42 single women from 25 45 yrs of age many never married before

i felt sorry for many of them because the old "maybe jah don't want you to marry" line was wearing thin

i recall seeing longtime jw women complain about newly baptized sisters get a bro within 1 or 2 yrs of hitting the water

of course it did help that they looked like Vanessa Walliams or Hally Berry- but it was so hard trying to tell these "hot" women to wait on jah and stay busy- like one sister told me one night

"I want to GET BUSY" SMILE

my used to tell me the stories about how the sisters would dream about certain bro or how they would discuss what would happen if sister so and so died- yep they were sitting around waiting for a sister to die- esp once you hit the 30-45 group

We had one bookstudy n an apartment complex that was made up of 17 single women only myself and the reader were married

When we were studing the Family book none of the sisters would comment on the SEX lessons- my wife and the readers wife had to do it all-
MY WIFE Hated it with a passion- esp WELL YOU KNOW THE PARTS SMILE

It got so bad that we as a Body of Elders decided to move some folks around to mix it up

Due to the fact that they all lived in the complex many as roommates at the time we thought it was a great idea till the new bookstudy book turned out to be the family book

Well over on WOL they have a thread that shows the poor suffering of women when they are limited to on JW men and even then they end up with losers many times

    Enjoy

    FROM WOL

    Whaleryder says:

Well it seems we are short of bros in my area. In the 4 congs that share my hall there are only 3 single bros my age. Two dont want to marry and the 3rd isnt spiritual enough. Within an hour of my home there are at least 14 congs, and Ive visited
most of them over the last few years.I could count on one hand the number of single brothers.Even at quick builds I havent noticed many or heard of many.
So I basically have given up looking. Even
in writing a brother I dont expect anything but friendship. If the right one comes along, great. If not there is the new system.

    Hey 1,
Those girls need to get into some advertising and find Joe Country out in the sticks. Long distance romance often leads to marriage. The guys that have it made are the young studs, especially black. They can march right up to sister White-as-Snow and the old man can't say a thing about it.
With all of that going on it sadly leaves out many of the older, darker and 'already with children' sisters. Another problem is that guilt thing..you know, when they do something off the wall with hubby, then run and tell Bro. Strict what they did. Some of them are really goofy.
Then you have the othr extreme. Some of them get married and discover that their elder/ms don't have the ability or the equipment to satisfy them. LOL

    Hey JT:

I don't mean to bust her bubble, but doesn't that sister you quoted know that the WTS teaches that the ressurected ones won't have sex when they come back?

Funny! Sad but funny. But how different is that really from the rest of humanity when you realize that we all have some standard we judge potential mates against and after some dry spell lament that "all the good ones are either married or gay".
In any case, the wt has done a disservice in so limiting the social skills of its young people that choosing a spouse is like russian roulette.
I don't miss The Empire's single dating scene one little bit! Too easy to hook up with a psycho! (Come to think of it, the world ain't that different since I'm still getting over Pat)

They do it in the younger age group too, evidently. We had a sensational murder in this area a while back. A young brother's wife was kidnapped and murdered for the baby she carried. The baby lived and now was "motherless". It was awful. It made national headline news for weeks. The thing was, I know how those young sisters work. I told my daughters that the man didn't have a chance. He wasn't even good looking as far as I was concerned. I know his brother, who was in our congregation. I was surprised this guy was a bit homely because his brother is nice looking. Anyway, I told my kids that he would be engaged before the year was up. But even I was surprised that it only took only four months after his wife's death and the ring was on someone elses finger!

    Get this Lindy,
One of my younger brothers was dating this sister who already had a child. They were getting serious enough that he gave her a engagement ring. After about a year of their romance, a bright young elder's wife died of cancer and guess what?
One day she walked into that elder's hall, arm in arm (5 months after his wife died) with the bro after having given my brother NO WARNING. Man, that hit him like a ton of bricks. He went on to alcoholism (another great idea from Rutherford) and took years to recover.
    Isn't that wacked?
