The lack of love is what really stands out, imho, about the JWs.
Just make sure you give yourself time to heal/deprogram from a mind control group.

Jadedlady, your story made me tear up a little too. I can't really understand how they pick the people the pick to be "bad association". Probably you were just too intelligent. I don't think they like that much. Anyway, welcome to the board.

I'm glad you're here and posting. Thanks for sharing your story--it was very well told. I had similar experiences as well.
You know, if it weren't for the internet and discussion forums like this, I wonder how many of us would have stayed on even longer in the JWs. The net and JWDB greatly helped my exit.

Thank you everyone for the great welcome. I think I've found good educated "apostates" (love that word, and title) here. I'm on my personal road of recovery, and greet each day as a new learning experience.
The neighbor who advised me to do the reach into the history on the WT, passed away a few months ago. I hope she knew what a true friend she was to me. Her name was Helen.

Welcome JadedLady. If you dig deep enough into this forum you will find many stories similar to yours. Your story is not an isolated incident, so you would think the Watchtower Society would catch on they have a huge problem and correct it, but it ain't gonna happen. This forum has helped many so jump in with both feet. Bug
