Celtie, did you doctor that photo? If you didn't, and I'm not surprised if you didn't, I would say you've caught a nature spirit or elemental on film.............I have a friend who showed me pictures that her boyfriend took in an ancient church yard, and there were orbs all around her. For those who don't know, it has been postulated that orbs show up on film when spirits are present...........I watched a cool show about it one time, where they subjected the film to all kinds of tests, etc..............those orbs were not light flashes or anything to do with the film...........the people who were thus photographed were psychics and had felt and heard the spirits trying to communicate..........sometimes they will show up as a little squiggly line................those are beautiful and cool, Celt! Thanks for sharing!

Edited to add for the sake of the skeptical on JWD it has been postulated

    Thanks Princess.

for telling us how to do that clicky thing.

That is an awesome picture.. sort of looks like the wings of a great bird. Looks like a kindly spirit rather than ghostly.

    very interesting celtic

    sincerely

    Terri,

You have to be kidding me? It looks pretty much like an unusual natural feature of the landscape, or a man-made artifact to me.

Orbs are NOT spirits. Digital cameras are notorious for producing orbs in low-light conditions. They are out of focus dust particles and flying insects that get caught on the flash. I have created pictures with orbs myself - it's not difficult.

It is fun to imagine that it is a ghost, though. :)

    Terri,

This is what I'm saying - you are taking a well known, natural phenomenon (such as orbs) and for no reason turning them into a supernatural event. Orbs and other artifacts are no mystery to professional photographers.

It's like saying, "Wow! I put some water in the freezer and the next morning it was hard as a rock! There must be a ghost in that box!"

The facts we know about the physical properties of water don't make them any less mysterious or amazing. In fact, having a deeper, more accurate understanding is all the more exciting as you learn to *harness* the phenomenon for the benefit of man.

Rainbows aren't any less beautiful now that we know they are caused by refracted light, and the fact that we know pots of gold won't be found at the end of them doesn't diminish our appreciation and awe of them.

For me a false sense of mystery by remaining voluntarily ignorant of facts doesn't show a true appreciation of the real mysteries of the universe. It's like a child's game where you just scratch the surface. There are so many *real* mysteries in life that are amazing to contemplate that to prefer artificial mysteries seems to show a lack of appreciation of them.

Now I'm not saying that we always have to be serious. It's fun to invent mysteries that don't exist - that's called fiction. The problem is when people have trouble distinguishing between fact and fiction. Maybe you guys are better actors than I give you credit for, but I was starting to see the lines blurred there.

That's just the way I see it. :)

Do not worry folks, tis not a ghost. As some of you know, I gave up cannabis smoking a few weeks ago. The other day I went outside and threw my remaining stock out on the lawn. This wood pidgeon shortly afterwards was seen pecking around the grass, and shortly afterwards it looked to me to be a bit wonky on its legs. It flew up in the air eventually, kind of gracefully wonkily and proceeded to fly in absurd figures of eight making my eyes dizzy just looking at the thing. Anyway, on one of it's fly by's it saw me looking at it through the living room window, and beak open came tearing down on me from about a hundred feet up, I really think s/he was quite annoyed with me. As it got closer I pulled a funny face at it upon which action it let out this rather startling noise. I'm sure the bird in a previous lifetime must have been a Japanese suicide fighter bomber pilot. As it zoomed closer and closer it suddenly flew straight into the window with one great crash, looked at me quizzically and promptly flew off looking the worse for wear.

The photograph is the impression the daft balmpot bird left on the window. No, the picture is not doctored in anyway at all, and yes, this story has been embellished.

Weird photograph though isn't it, once in a lifetime shot.

    But it's definitely no ghost.

    Btw whats an orb again?
