What a pretty dog! How much training is involved in getting a dog certified for therapy work? I'm familiar with the CGC, but is more required?

I love setters, they're such kind hearted dogs, my grandmother would really look forward to the therapy dogs that went to her nursing home...what a lovely idea.....I nearly bought a puppy the other day-i'm really desperate for one atm-I was looking at pointers but my first choice would be a setter-I had one a long time ago who was wonderful,and very easy to train.. I was also considering a beagle-their coat is so soft and they're so sweet natured;
I need a dog to run with and hug!!!!!
