You suppose that I have gotten past step number 1 in what you say, when in effect I haven't. Yes this is alot of "incredible information availiable" and its overwhelming and emotional, I don't discredit that at all. But without sounding like I'm discrediting it ( I'm not) It is a drop in th ocean of JW experiences. (Both pro and ex) You see it is Ex experiences that are voiced here, you take me on the assumption that I don't grasp or understand these in the least, when infact I do. I understand them perfectly. Understand that these are experiences you see to back up what you and many others feel. Don't you think that there are thousands of experiences converse to yours and others here? Of course there is. Don't you think they have gone through hardships to get in the Truth/Stay in it? Despite shunning from families, friends, work colleagues? You say yourselves how difficult it was.

None of this is to belittle your experiences, not at all. Its just to get you to see that there is still the other side to all this.

I wish you the best too, but I wish most that after experiencing such hardships as you say you have, you have some understanding for those still experiencing the same in doing what they feel is right too.

I've got no problems with you Scoob, you should know that. You're on a journey and until you get to where you need to be, you're going to be unsettled and cranky.

I've got a feeling that 10 years from now you'll look back on this Internet discussion board and give yourself a quiet little smile. The funny thing is, you won't know what you'll be smiling about until then.

Scooby, I don't think anyone here would accuse you of being a deep thinker. Your answer to Ona above is about as shallow as I've ever seen.

You must understand this: not every "exJW" left because of negative experiences - bad elders, disfellowshipping, child abuse, UN scandal, etc. Speaking personally, I had a very nice upbringing in what I then thought to be "The Truth". My mom was a firm believer, she was the best mother anyone could ever hope for, my kids were raised with fantastic moral values, I had friends, I was a well-respected member of the congregation.

The religion is simply wrong. Doctrine, interpretation, predictions, you name it - wrong. The wrongness is sytemic and there's no way to fix it....other than leave, which I did. After getting out, I then realized how many people had been harmed by the wrongness and it changed my perspective.

I am in no way bitter about having been a Jehovah's Witness for over 30 years. But I'm awake now in ways I was not before and if you can't see that, then your alarm clock hasn't gone off yet. Maybe it never will, you seem a very sound sleeper.

Oh, and in answer to your question....you don't affect me one way or another. I just don't care.

You know Tex, I have no problems with you either, infact I like you more than many here, always have. You and Nina.

But this period of change you think I'm in, I've probably be in for 10 years and more past, infact longer. Its given me long enough time to realise where I am re the WBTS. I think I've come as far away from it as I can, don't you think I've laid awake juggling it all about in my mind? In 10 years time who knows where I'll be, maybe here, maybe dead, maybe a pioneer, who knows. But I have seen all what is on offer out of the WT believe me, and it hasn't made me quite fit in here still.

Understand that I'm me. Some here have expressed amazement that I can still think as I do, its not really amazing, its just me. Maybe, one day I'll see you and smile.
