With the world as it is now, any one of us can go to the library, yes, even the UN library (without a member ship card) and research such "Bible truths" on our own. For anyone to tell me that I am unable, due to a lack of God's holy spirit or approval, intelligence or faith, to accurately research and study the Bible on my own aside from the Society is arrogant. Uncovering a truth here and there does not make you God's chosen organization for salvation as the WT does assert. Even Satan tells the truth when it is to his advantage. The fact is, not one of their predictions has ever been accurate . . . not one.

I love Jehovah and his son, Christ Jesus, however, I do believe I am acting in harmony with God's Word when I expose the lies and deceptions of the WTBTS. I think I am being false when I know what I know and just go along with it because I think I have nowhere else to go. Jehovah is a tower and into it the righteous run.

The nation of Isreal was under a covenent, pre-Jesus, and Jehovah dealt with them according to the Law. He only forgave them and restored their favored relationship to Him when they repented. That's R-E-P-E-N-T-E-D. So far, I have not seen a humble and repentent attitude in the Society. They instead deny, in other words, L-I-E, and cover up their sins. They only admit to "flashes of brilliant light" to explain their new and improved interpretation of Scripture when their old light, that with the test of time, has failed us all miserably . . . since its beginning. A pair of trick scales is a detestable thing to Jehovah. They have alot to answer for dating back to the WTBTS's incorporation. I am not sure I want to be there when Jesus comes knocking with his ten-key and asks to see their books.
If the spiritual food is coming from Jehovah, they have perverted and poisoned it just for our consumption. I take exception to that. It's like when I found out my favorite processed cheese was a couple of chemical components away from being molded plastic silly putty. I stopped eating it and began eating real cheese.

Perhaps the real test is whether or not we obey Jehovah's admonition to "get out of her". Corvin

Watchtower of October 1, 1967, pg. 587: "Thus the Bible is an organizational book and belongs to the Christian congregation as an organization, not to individuals, regardless of how sincerely they may believe that they can interpret the Bible. For this reason the Bible cannot be properly understood without Jehovah's visible organization in mind."

i liked your post corvin... im curious how long you've been out for... if you were ever to use reasoning like this with a Dub, you wouldn't get very far (unfortunately). they would use as many cliches as needed to make themselves feel like they are doing the right thing, and while they pat themselves on the back, they would not be without hope of swaying you back towards the "truth."

1) who else uses the name you seem to believe is God's name?

2) God has always had an organization, and the outsiders were always without his approval

3) When do you preach the good news? You can't do it effectively unless you do it strategically (door to door)

4) Jehovah forgave israel many many times and only until they killed his son did he disown them as a group, so if the Watchtower makes mistakes, we know Jehovah will forgive the FDS because at least they are trying, which is an act of repentance

5) There are no trick scales, but since haters of truth and opposers of God want to put the Watchtower in a bad light because of Satan's influence, the FDS sometimes has to skirt certain issues when correcting themselves, which is really an indirect way of apologising, and if that's not good enough for you, then maybe you should take to heart Jesus counsel of forgiveness, up to 77 times

6) Jesus has been here since 1914.

7) Jehovah's true Christian Witnesses is the only organization that doesnt go to war and always remains politically neutral, just as Jesus admonished Christians to do.

I personally dont believe any of these arguments. unfortunately many millions do. and they will repeat and re-repeat any or all of these expressions to make themselves feel better about their "faith." They think you will die at armageddon. They believe they are looking out for your best interests. They can't look past these points and will give you out-of-context scriptures from a biased bible to prove it.

The reason i asked you how long you've been out is because i felt the same way you did when i was fresh on the Apostate scene. Then i read the bible. A REAL BIBLE. I took some advice and bought what is considered one of, if not, the most trusted and accurate bibles available. I actually went to chapters and bought a New International Version bible and it made me believe something i thought i would and could never believe. And it was nothing like the Watchtower's Gospel. Part of the advice i was given was to start in Matthew. I read the new testament in about 3 or 4 months and it was very refreshing. I still dont know the answers to everything, but what i do know is that, what was lacking before, a connection with Jesus and a deeper understanding of his role and position, is now there. And to me that's a start towards being more spiritual. I was a witness for 24 years and never once felt spiritual. Now, sometimes i do. Im not better or worse, i just feel good about God sometimes. And that's important to me.

I hope none of this sounded preachy, but i honestly never thought i'd feel the way i do about God and Jesus, and the only thing that helped me was reading a real bible.

As a fairly recently inactive one, I still need the odd reminder that I've done the right thing, especially after I've checked ewatchman's site and start to feeling like maybe I haven't done the right thing cos he's pulled at old strings ...

I like the point about the Israelite system eventually being cast off.

Hey I just thought of something else. Is ewatchman giving the glory for the 'spiritual food' to the Father or to the FDS? The Israelites were supposed to follow Moses, but when Moses took credit for himself for getting water out of the rock, he was disciplined. So what kind of discipline does the FDS deserve for all the self-glorying it revels in !!?

Now.....let me see if I have this straight. Whether or not means what? Does that mean this Organisation may NOT be in "good standing" in Jehovahs eyes? It sounds like it means that to me. If it MAY NOT be in good standing in Jehovah's eyes ( and they just said it was possible )......then WHY would it be "unfair" and "like throwing food back in gods face" to DENY this Organisation?

Why would god NOT want you to deny an organisation that IS NOT in good standing with him?

Was I REALLY that stupid for 40 years?
