Hi!
I know this young couple; the wife is a JW and the husband is not (and has no desire to become one). The wife was baptised AFTER they got married. She has been a JW for almost a year. My question is: since she has not been successful in converting her husband into a dub, will her Elders really start getting on her case now since her first year "love bombing" is over?? Will they go so far as to suggest she divorce him??

no they wont go that far. The initial love bombing will die off, of course and she will be just another publisher. She will be "Poor sister so&so" who has to put up with a worldy husband. I bet she cant wait till armageddon when her husband dies and she gets a chance to marry a real servant of jehovah. Until then, she will be pressed to convert her husband.

other wise even in a unhappy.. loveless marriage.. even abusive as long as your life is not in jeapardy.. they try to make you stay with your spouse.

they will actually discourage divorce.. they only allow/encourage it when there has been adultry..
They will also encourage a wife to leave her husband if he in any way, shape or form, tries to prevent her from going to the meetings or out in Service, or if he gets her to start questioning the doctrines, even though there's no scriptural grounds.

actually that is kind of new.. I am not sure if all congregations follow that yet.. I think they have to unquestionably feel that they will be a spiritual hardship......
and even then.. they can not remarry.. or shouldn't divorce. only seperate

The 3 "grounds" for a seperation, not a divorce, is Spiritual endangerment, physical endangerment, and willfull neglect to materially support the wife.
If a ex-dub mate starts throwing apostate comments to the dub mate, Elders can be quick about encouraging a seperation.

Gumby, if he (the x-dub) has been throwing apostate comments to her, is she REQUIRED to report this to the Elders? Can't a husband and wife talk about things in the privacy of their own home without the Elders knowing?
