I was married to an Englishman and lived in England for 14 years. My rose-tinted spectacles were shattered the first year there. But there are cultural differences, and I always thought that remaining composed under stress was something the English did superbly well.

Don't EVEN go there, it's one of the things they are a bit defensive about. I grew up in southern Cal and I complained the whole time I was there, it did not make me popular.
