The Stepford Wives is coming!

The remake is set for release on June 11.

Do you remember the first one? It was sooooo creepy.

My favorite line (let's see if I get it right) was when Patrick O'Neal snuck up on Katharine Ross and was silently watching her. When she turned around and 'caught him', he said "I just love to watch women doing domestic chores" in that dry, gravelly voice of his. Chilling!

I was really excited about the new flick, but the more I read about it... It's being called more of a spoof, a 'comedic take' on the story. The cast line-up is great! But I dunno, a spoof?

It may be a good flick in its own right, though, so I'll still check it out.

But, bah, humbug! I wanna be spooked, creeped-out. I want a dark story, not just make-up and FX. Any recommendations for good (new) flicks like this? Or obscure ones I may not have seen?

Well, don't get your hopes up. I checked out some websites today out of curiosity, and 'spoof' seems to be the buzz. We can keep our fingers crossed, though!

I might just have to re-view the oldie, to get in the mood. Yeah, that's the ticket!

Hey all - we've been waiting for Stepford Wives to come out since we heard of the remake about two years ago - but same here, - we wish it wasn't gonna be a comedy. Were you ever one of those "Stepford JW's"? One of the last elders we had occasion to speak with, told us he is becoming "more robotic in his old age" - duh, get a clue!

Yeah, what's wrong with those folks in Hollyweird, anyhoo?? LOL

In answer to your question, I was the perfect example of a JW kid and teen. But something, I don't know what, drove me to be free at a young age, and I've never wished to return. (Praise Jah! heheh j/k) Keep up the good work you do, by the way! It is much needed. I read your posts with regard to mental illness with great interest, and always learn something.

A bouquet for you, and all you do ---->

    Hey Pat!

Yah, we shall see. Still, there's some pretty good talent. I just put a hold on the original at the library.

Interesting to note, the book was written by Ira Levin, author of Rosemary's Baby. Speaking of spooky movies! I wonder if they will remake that as a spoof? I can see it now, mwaaaa ha ha ha ha!

    HUGS right back atcha, girl!

I'm hoping that I'm wrong on this one and have totally misread the press.

Remember those black eyes they all had with no irises? brrrrr,,, just got a shiver!
