Heh, yea! It would be a great service car, living in the desert.....4x4...
It is great to roll up the sides and take eight or so friends to dinner. The seats fold down into a flat bed for camping too.

I'm quite sure I know what you meant, Jim.
And that little econo-box reminds me of the Geo Metro my mother used to drive. Sure, it went a long ways on a gallon of gas, but every time Mom drove over a bump, my head thumped against the roof. I hated riding in that car. I received a reminder of how cramped those things are just this past Saturday while riding with a friend in his Metro. My knees were plastered against the dashboard, and I felt real bad for the poor guy who had to wedge himself into the back seat.
I used to own a dodge neon. Not a bad car, a little loud, great on mileage, but it was like exersise just getting out of the car. I use to be wedged in that car and needed to grab the door posts to get out. Got rid of it in a year.
hahahahahaha -
I just got a mental of this thing rolling up to a Bus Stop - and 10 'pioneers' come flying out of it, litter-ature in hand, 'attacking' the poor folks waiting for the next bus!
They would think they were being invaded or something!
hahahahahahaha

thichi,
NO WAY!!! that is hilarious!!!! you are my man!!!!
princess,
the SMART is the perfect car for large cities with lack of parking space. its intended for driving to work or making shopping. its not intended for family transports (its a 2 seat car). the point is that in most cases people drive alone in their cars and for this cases its perfect (too expensive though).
jim,
i like the beetle. cute design! for a family of four + its too small however (unless its used as second car).
Realist: If you ever find yourself in the Palm Springs area, let me know....it is a blast to drive.
thichi,
