Jws seen to be anti-social

I understand that jws are often seen as anti-social, as said by Avenger,I think in one of his posts.

I also read in an article on the jwic site, that jws have acquired a reputation for being anti-social.

In what way are jws seen to be anti-social?

You mean besides the fact they only stay in the clique of the organization and do not have anything to do with those in the world???

They view outsiders with distrust. They tend to avoid extended family gatherings, giving the impression that they think they're above the others in the family.

They come to people's doors early on weekend mornings and wake them up to tell them that they should change their religion. How sociable is that?

And of course they won't participate in national or community affairs, don't take blood and don't celebrate holidays.

Their leadership has built artificial walls around the JW's to keep them under control. The more the world disdains them, the greater their insularity and separation becomes.

IMO, it's not so much distrust... it's more a feeling of superiority. Everyone who's not a witness is intent on drinking till they puke, taking drugs and fornicating each other into obliviom - in their eyes. This is what they must be saved from.

JWs associate amongst themselves.

Then, of course, exists the clicks within where elders associate mostly with other elders, pioneers with other pioneers, bethelites with other bethelites, and so on and so on.

Having said that, do not discard some of us that, regardless of being JWs or not, just don't like to associate a whole lot period. You know, the loner types.

JW's can't be part of anything at school.....they can't be part of the community in any way.....they can't be friends with outsiders (worldly people) and they don't have much to do with family that aren't JW's......go figure why they seem anti-social?

What are the dubs praying for when they think of the Lord's prayer (They would never actually use the Lord's prayer word for word in the Kingdom Hall by the way)? Lol anti-social... Well my sister isn't too anti social but she does have the high and mighty mood alot of times. My brother is like the coolest since he's like a good talker and he like talks with everybody. He is far from anti-social. He's only anti-social when he goes to the hall. Kind of forced though...

I'm somewhat anti-social. I'm not like totally by myself and Im not totally in the in crowd with plenty of people around me. Dunno, I know the org messed me up in that way. My mom told me that satan was in every worldly person and that satan would come into me if I associated with them. Kind of stumped me for a long time since she said it constantly for years. oh well.
