Most likely propaganda. Although, rumsfeld said recently that they are nearer the beginning of war on terror than the end. What will many more yrs of 'war on terror' mean for americans?

This sounds like propaganda to me. The "end" of the USA has been proclaimed over and over...and it ain't happened yet.
That said...do I think that maybe some areas of our economy will crash...probably. Housing prices are bound to start declining as interest rates start rising again. The rest, I don't know. I'll wait and see.

I'm not buying that crap for a second. That is not the first gloom and doom ranting, nor will it be the last.

What they are not saying is that, we're going to move to a different economy than the economy of petrol, sooner or later as the price of this ressource become higher. There's a lot we can do to reduce our consommation of petrol but presently, we don't really care about it because it's still easy to get gas in our car, at a fairly low price. By example, we could possibly extract biodiesel from a fast growing algae: http://science.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/05/25/1838201&mode=thread&tid=126&tid=134 and there's more about alternative energy here: http://www.geet.com/ ... I don't say that the transition will be easy, but it will come naturally when it won't be economically viable anymore to use petrol.

people grab for anything of tangible value as paper money becomes worthless especially in the USA. Survival will the primary concern of the masses.
Sonds like a colaboration between him and the Watchtower. They'll probably use this to add power to their prophesies.

Great last comment, Avengers - I wouldn't at all be surprised to see this printed as 'gloom and doom' evidence in the Awake. And, all the while, the WT will encourage the R&F to pile into their gas-hogging SUVs, vans, and large, full-sized family autos to peddle their publications...not to mention driving all the extra miles to attend district conventions.

In terms of domination of the dollar, times have changed.
Since the formation of the Euro it is not the sole dominant currency.
If Britain joined then the Euro would be by far the most influential.
