I recieved a 7 page "note" from my brother and his wife pleading with me to come back to Jehovah God and His Organization. He said the Devil was after me and my family and that the results will be disastrous unless I come back to "Jehovah's protective custody". Also, it was strongly implied that unless my family went back to meetings and went out in field service, most JWs, including family members would not attend my daughter's wedding and reception.My wife, daughter and I have been overtaken by the Devil, according to him. He pleaded, "please, please, please" come back to "our God, Jehovah".He also reflected about my calling the Faithful Slave just an illustration and that the Witnesses are nothing but a sect and a cult He has spoken to a mutual elder friend that frequently comes by my work to say hello about his concerns too ...........I have given HoChiMin, a fellow friend and poster the 7 page letter to scan on the site for your viewing.

Those "notes" are tough. It sounds like they are really sincere, although I did not like the sound of the implication about your daughter's wedding and reception. You almost feel bad until they start the ultmatum crap. I can't wait to see the scanned letter. Thanks.

Sorry to hear about the "note." The "please Please PLEASE" tone had to be rough to handle. It makes you wonder how it would be if things were flipped --- you (or any of us) begging our family to come back to the 'Org... It must be hard for him, thinking he is doing the right thing... While really so caught up in the smoke and mirrors of the WTS. Has he expressed any interest in an honest, objective look at the Society? Damn the WTS for programming its clones so well!!!

Wow, min, I'm just so sorry to hear about this. 7 pages is a doozy of a letter.
My hope is that one day, your brother--and in fact your whole family--will be thanking you one day for not compromising. In their minds, and surely in their emotions, your family cares very much for you. They would surely attend your daughter's wedding, except for the Love(tm) that the WT requires of them.

Sad to say, my brother believes he's doing right. The tone of his letter is to try to appeal to me. He sincerely feels I must be talked to so as to get some sense knocked into me. He feels I've led my family to a course of death. When you've been out of it for a while, you can see how sad of a religion this really is.
