A well thought out and properly prepared plan can make the difference in property loss and more importantly lost lives.

Bryan!!! Thanks for this warning thread.......I was on the board last night and spotted it, and got off immediately and called my mom who is house sitting for my sister in Waxahachie.........she took the dog and herself into the bathroom linen closet. I guess it uprooted trees and took my sisters arbor down, and there was golf ball sized hail, lots of heavy winds, but, she's still there with the house. Spoke to her this morning. Her power is out up in Midlothian, tho. I wonder how everyone else fared?? Everybody else okay??

Actually, on a more serious note, I watched something on the Discovery Channel about Tornado's and it was scary stuff. Apparently the fear is that a Cat 5 will one-day hit Dallas. Fort Worth was hit quite hard by a lower-powered one recently it seems?

I'm glad we don't get 'em here !

Terri: Bryan!!! Thanks for this warning thread.......

Glad it helped. I know many times I can be online with no TV or radio going. It was a massive storm and hit worse I believe in both SE Ft.Worth and SE Dallas. Here in Plano we received a little rain and a great light show.

    Uzzah,

I think you made some very good points...Having a mutal place to meet for when these disasters happen, is a very good plan.Just 5 mins away, we had funnel clouds around us and those funnels clouds touched down 1/2 away in Mitchell,Ont that ripped 30 homes down last weekend. We also had funnel clouds a couple of weekends ago only in the next town.. If you have never been in or around this kind of weather, it can be rather scary...A plan is so important....Another thing I would like to point out is that here, in South Western Ont, we are very vunerable for Toradoes to hit here this summer....More so then any other years according to the weather folks....Please have a plan...

So would it have been divine vengeance by Jehovah if the cat5 had of hit Dallas during the apostafest?

Simon I used to feel the same way. In the past month, there have been 4 of them in our area. We never have had them before. Makes you wonder about what they're saying about tornadoes and global warming.

Yep. It's got to be 5 years now since a tornado hit downtown Fort Worth. In fact it hit a skyscraper head on, blew out most of the windows and damaged the support structure to where (even now) it is not safe to go inside much less use as a workplace. I don't know why they haven't torn it down.
