  This is part of a letter that Rutherford wrote to the German Empire before WW 2.

  In the declaration of facts, Rutherford wrote:
  

  The present government of Germany has declared emphatically against Big Business oppressors and in opposition to the wrongful religious influence in the political affairs of the nation. Such is exactly our position:...Instead of being against the principles advocated by the government of Germany, we stand squarely for such principles and point out that Jehovah God through Christ Jesus will bring about the full realization of these principles... [emphasis ours] 8

  What principles did Germany advocate under Hitler's rule? The Watchtower reported the following in their publication, God's Kingdom of A Thousand Years:

  Shortly after the United States was plunged into World War II, information on this Nazi plan was gleaned from seized Nazi documents....This plan aimed at a Nazi world order that Hitler, if successful in World War II, would mercilessly enforce upon the world and mankind...[He] evidently had in mind the Germanic Holy Roman Empire...At any rate, there was no reestablishment...as many people of Hitler's religion had hoped. 9

  While it is quite evident that the Society didn't believe in Nazism, the Declaration reveals that they are just as guilty as they claim Christendom is for "Sleeping With The Enemy." Consequently, one must also ask, what or whom was Rutherford referring to as the so called "Big Business oppressors?" 10 He answers: "It has been the commercial Jews of the British-American empire that have built up and carried on Big Business as a means of exploiting and oppressing the peoples of many nations....

  Sleeping with the enemy. UN. Nazis? What's the difference?

  Can you give us the rest of the letter? I'm no fan of Rutherford, but it sounds like the text you've quoted might be flattery to soften Hitler before asking him to be nicer to the witnesses. Nothing wrong with that.

  To try and soften Hitler up is imo something different than saying that you agree with the Nazi principals.

  After Hitler declined the declaration the WTS makes a complete turn-around and is then against Hitler.
  IMO the WT was kissing Hitler's ass, just in case he might have won the war.
  I don't think one can have lower, more despicable morals than that.

  and when you add the information that Rutherford made advertise to buy war bonds in America for WW1 and that the Switzerland Branch officer declared during WW 2 that in Switzerland the JW's were standing in their military duty - the exactly anglais words I dont know - so you see: the world ist round like the belly< from the evil ones.   Can you give us the rest of the letter? I'm no fan of Rutherford, but it sounds like the text you've quoted might be flattery to soften Hitler before asking him to be nicer to the witnesses. Nothing wrong with that.

  Did Rutherford realistically expect the Axis to conquer USA with a thousand miles of sea either way.

  Reading the whole Declaration of Facts document i have had opportunity to review it in context; if you cast your eyes through history books the nazi government advocated, financial security, peace and prosperity for its people; (Hitler ruled at a time of depression following WW1) and as such do you not think that it was these sentiments of financial security, peace and prosperity that the society concurred after all wouldnt any of us?

  Also consider the fact that Hitler didnt begin his genocide for a considerable time in his rule and the society were not to know at that point that he was to become the oppressor he was; i think applying a balance whilst the letter reads in an unfortunate fashion it is clear that any organisation in times of political upheaval and facing restrictions would simply say that 'we understand you want the best for your country and so do we as citizens'. I think this is the spirit of the letter if read with an open mind.

  Before the start of WWII, during the push for the League of Nations, Rutherford was definitely NOT for any EARTHLY declaration of peace & security. He preached heavily against it. How he did agree with Hitler is that they both condemned the Jewish people for owning "big business", homosexuals for being deviant, and the rest that put the "Aryan Race" above others.

  Then why not consider the fact that the WT claims to be god's mouthpiece? How could God himself not know? How could he make such a mistake as to entrust his word in the hands of a printing company that up till this time had made so many mistakes in His Name, and would continue as long as they were on the planet? Any other views?
