"Truth or Consequences" is my story about the good and bad times in the Watchtower Organization. It is my hope this story will help others know what motivates a person to join a cult and what motivates a person to leave.

"Truth or Consequences" is a true love story of two young people who faced many obstacles as they proved their love for each other before they became Jehovah's Witnesses. They believed their love and loyalty for the Watchtower Organization was the only way to show their love for God. It is a tragic tale of what comes between two people in love when one of them learns the truth about the Watchtower and leaves.

An honest and candid look into the mind and heart of a Jehovah's Witness as he struggles to choose between his faith or losing his family.

Decisions today may force us to tip the scales between our faith and our family tomorrow.

My story is not unusual for those who have felt the heavy hand of the Watchtower Organization. Those who have left this cult, or any cult will be able to relate to the pain and the abandonment of those they love after they examine their religion and learn of the lies and deceptions that they believed to be the truth.

It is not the purpose of this book to expose all the deceptions and false doctrines. This has been done by many books before mine. "Truth or Consequences" was not originally meant to be written for the public to see. It was originally meant as a labor of love for my family and friends to read when they are ready as I was. It was to be a posthumous book for my children and grandchildren whom I am unable to speak to in life. It is my prayer that their hearts may be moved to read it after my death as they are forbidden to by the Watchtower today. This is my prayer because my story is also their story. I wanted to tell them what goes on behind the closed doors that I was unable to speak to them about. To tell them of my internal torment as I was beginning to see the things that would soon tear our happy family apart.

After opening my heart and soul up in "Truth or Consequences," I came to realize that I am not alone in this grief. Many others who have been where I am can benefit by my words. It is for this reason that I have decided to offer my book to the public.

    Testimonials

"Really powerful! I ache for this family and all others that have been torn apart." Libby (Former Jehovah's Witness)
"Good details. Easy to understand, and you tell your personal experience with feeling. You make me feel I've walked in your shoes, and bring me into your life." Ruth Baker (Former Jehovah's Witness) "I can't express how much 'Truth or Consequences' means to me. It speaks to so many of my issues and concerns. Your book is fantastic!" Randy, thank you for posting this.

royboy, I think I owe you an explanation.

I moved a thread you'd recently started, about your book. My only concern was that JWD might thereby be being used as an advertising medium.

Randy's vouch for your book is far and away good enough for me...and my apologies for any offense I may have caused you.

    Sincerely,

    Craig

PS: I will be getting just ordered a copy of your book.

WOW!!! I am sitting here shocked to see this on your board. I did not know that Randy was going to do this, and I want to think Randy for putting it here. I have it on Randy's site, and a few others, but am very pleased that he thought so highly of the book to let all of you know of it. I've had some very good feed-back from ex-witnesses who have read it. Three local newspapers ran a story about it, which I am very grateful for. Those who have read it say that it is not so much a bashing of the Organization as it is about what the Organization does to a good relationship, which my wife and I had for thirty years. Thanks to you for your order and your comment too.

I just finished the book on Sunday. I thought it was great. I like the fact that it wasnt about exposing doctrine, although those books are important as well. It is a love story, and one that everyone here can relate to in some form, I am sure. Great job Roy!

Haven't yet read any books like this, but may give this one a try. I want to understand why these things happen. When I was in the Org everything seemed so sugarcoated--I never imagined it would turn out this way in the end. I too was dedicated to the cause and couldn't see past it all. I am still asking WHY?

Undepen1? Now who are you? Did I mail you a book?

Now Randy, why didn't you tell your downunder friends? Just joking, cobber.

I've gotta have a copy but the credit card won't allow it till next week. Watch out for the order.

That'll be the second great read from you this year. "The Two Presidents" was real neat.

    Keep it up, old son!

    CHeers and God bless, Ozzie
