Recently I had to go to the dentist. Mind you, I had a long day at work, I didn't enjoy my last visit to the dentist... so I really, really just didn't want to go. But I knew that I should go, so I begrudgingly went...

    and guess what?!?

    I felt better afterwards.

All I can say is I thank my lucky stars I don't have to see my dentist three times a week.

    Nice poem!

There once was a witness of Jehovah,

Who just couldn't see that it's over,

    I've had quite enough,

    So go and get stuffed,

Or you'll get to see me go "Super Nova"!

I used to feel energized after the Sunday meetings.

I would be so tired through the talk. *yawn*

    Then, the WT study! Yay!

I would let my hair fall in a curtain on both sides of my face, scrunch down in my seat a little, and prop the WT in my lap.

Then, have my weekly one-hour catnap!

    Energized!

Seriously, though, cybs. That poem is sick, very sick. blecch Makes me glad they don't have MY e-mail addy.

Okay, even if you do feel better after meetings, (which is not always the case as we know) does that indicate a 'recharging'? Could it be that its actually the opposite, and the good feeling is not an indication one is recharged? If that feeling is an infusion of holy spirit or whatever, why is it you'd have to go to meetings to get them, or some kind of activity under the organization like field service? (which is again questionable, maybe if you placed something)

I would suggest that what is actually happening is not any kind of 'recharging', but essentially you are having your ears tickled, because the whole Witness mentality is so unnatural that you need so many meetings and be kept busy in order to sustain it. The good feeling is having that identification reinforced, which is hard to come by or in contrast with 'this wicked world' simply because it doesn't match up with the real world - spiritual or secular. Wouldn't an all powerful God be able to encourage one outside of meeting times, instead of limiting himself to certain days of the week at certain hours, but rather encourage people when they need it - which is naturally going to be at all different times?

Excuse me, but that is one god awful sick poem ! That's the mindset of the cult - they are such" weak" people and need to get their f---king fix at 5 meetings a week, service etc, etc, etc,...........

That's exactly the mindset my dad lived under - the brothers came to the house to shoot him up with the scriptures, shared prayers, - he'd slump in his chair in a trance-like state and it was just like watching some heroin addict shoot up - then later, on the downside, without that 24/7 fix - the depression hits and the battery drained, you kill yourself while feeling you have no life left to keep up the fight against Satan and your "weaknesses".

Thanks for sharing it cybs - it has recharged my battery and nobody better show up at my door today to ENCOURAGE me!

How come they didn't use the word "o'er" in the poem?

They know I have left because I was " discouraged ". They are keeping their distance by not writing to me anything personal, but keep sending these "encouraging" forwards in hopes that I'll be re-awakened, dust off the book bag and head on back to the old KH.

Ask 10 dubs what "discouraged " means, and see what you get. They don't even know what it means. To them, getting back to meetings takes care of discouragment. They deal with you by keeping their distance, but simply tell you to get to the meetings. What a fine way to help someone discouraged.

I wonder if jesus had heard someone was discouraged if he would say......."Get back to the temple regularly", and left it at that.

What do you suppose they think you are discouraged from? The end, the new system, apathy, tired of the fight, . They won't even ask you will they?

The only thing the elders want to know is........"do you still believe this is organisation", if they have reason to suspect? They hurry to nail you, but not to aid you. They like cops basically.

Yes, I had often heard that battery analogy even from the platform. I always felt guilty because I was not one of those who got recharged during the meetings and felt way better and more spiritual after taking a swim in the ocean, a walk in the jungle or just hugging someone. Yes, I did feel better when the meeting was over, and I now know why, because I was so damn happy that it was over!
