I had a friend who owned a gas station but it was a UnoCal so under their franchise contract they had to sell cigarettes. There was no negotiating. She even tried to place them out of the eye of the consumer but the company made her move it to the prime location. So, if you can prevent your store from selling cigarettes you are supposed to.

seems like a lot of you ex-jws (not all) are more conservative and rigorous than most jws actually are... next thing will be: "did you hear that jws are allowed to eat eggs? aint that abortion?" little tip: stick with the facts. there has never ever been a ban on alcohol for jws, not even in the beginnings.
another thing i want to add here: i noticed that many here (again, not everyone) like to talk bad about jws in general. i understand if you are not in love with the org, but what does the single jw have to do with it? did you forget you were one of those once? i wonder if it would have encouraged you to actually start thinking if someone would always keep bashing you about things you actually dont even know of...

I'm with you on this, googlemagoogle. It seems some of us on this board have had such bad experiences in the organization, that now they are just filled with hatred for anything "Witness". I try to analyze my feelings periodically: there were some terrific people I knew who were witnesses, including members of my family, whom I dearly love. There were also some bad people in the congregation with whom I want nothing to do, ever. And a lot of people who were somewhere between these extremes- just like you'd find with any large group of people. So, I try to remind myself that my issues are with the Watchtower Society, not its sheep, and to judge people as individuals, not part of a collective.
