You're suggesting that two wrongs make a right, Roybatty? How old are you? Are you suggesting that America should return to the racial ethics (lack thereof) of 60 years ago?

""FDR for sure. Not only for his wartime leadership, but primarily for firmly establishing the idea that we could be a capitalist country without being Social Darwinists."" Too bad that is exactly what we are becoming... Teddy (Who I have a picture of, hanging in my office) Regan George W

    Nice setup, Roy.

Of course, Jefferson had slaves, and Lincoln suspended the right of habeas corpus. So would you suggest that we should let modern Presidents keep slaves or suspend habeas corpus, because Jefferson or Lincoln did it?

    1. Reagan
    2. FDR
    3. George W.

All had to deal with entities that threatened our American way of life. They ,also, had concern for the freedoms of oppressed people earthwide.

Huh? Yeah, I'm suggesting America return to...whatever. The issue was who were the greatest presidents of the 20th century. Then I raised the issue of which one commited a more serious crime (worthy of impeachment) FDR or Bush? Are you able to connect the dots? BTW, I'm 36 going on 18. Going to do the whole dam thing over.

Was Jefferson breaking any laws at the time? Also, did he do this as an private, individual or as president of the United States? Lincoln is even a better example. I'm not arguing if what Lincoln did (basically declaring martial law) or what FDR did was right or wrong. All I'm pointing out is the agenda of the Bush bashers. We're at war. The president will need to make tough decisions. I hope the majority of them will be good decisions, but some of them will be bad decisions. FDR made a very bad decision by ordering 130,000 Americans to be placed into camps. He should have been arrested. He wasn't and is instead (as shown in the posts) viewed as the greatest president of the 20th century. On the other hand, Bush is leading us against an enemy who hides in the shadows, who hides in schools and religious buildings. An enemy who uses children to attack our troops. Everything isn't so black and white. People are crying out for him to be strung up by his nuts. I believe it's not because of what he's done, it's because they have a differnt political agenda then he does. Clinton said that Iraq has WMD, John Kerry said that Iraq had WMD, Bush said Iraq has WMD but only Bush is being labeled as a "liar." I'm not a huge fan of Bush (he's going to bankrupt the US) and there are even things about Kerry that appeal to me (the fact that he owned his own business) but I'm just tired of Bush being blamed for every little thing is Iraq. I'm tired of hearing people call for his removal from office. I'm tired of hearing John Kerry bash Bush about the war, the same war he supported just a short time ago. Just be honest and say "we have a differnt political agenda then Bush and we'll use any means to remove him from office" just as the republicans did with the Monica / Clinton issue.
