Spending Time With The Family...

Yeah, some of you may have recently noticed I am posting here much less than I used to (just as I am about to go Jedi too... ). I have been trying to spend more time with the family.

Over the past few months, I have become so attached to JWD, mainly due to the fact that it is all the socializing I get while I am at work, that I had began to neglect my family time. It felt really good the past weekend or two, to just stay in with the kids, or go out with the wife (Serenity) and have a few drinks.

As good as it is to associate with ex-JWs who know where I am coming from, it is even better to spend some time with those that are close to me. A recommendation to everyone here, is to stand up, go to the people you love, and give them a hug - whether it be your mother, father, sibling, friend, spouse - and just tell them that you love them. If possible, go out for a meal at a small local restaurant, and just talk like you haven't talked in years. Just let the love flow.

Here are a few pictures from when my wife and I have been out the past couple of weekends... see how much fun can be had!

Me and Serenity at our favorite local bar / restaurant, Brewskies.

The live entertainment, this guy was so good, we ended up dancing!

I love this picture... my wife looks exceptionally beautiful in it. This was taken as we were watching the guy above, and yes, that is a Newcastle Brown Ale!

The boy... this one was taken at Brewskies also. The electricity had gone out in town, so we decided to have a nice family meal at the restaurant.

Yup, that's me on the left... The musician for the night was a friend of a friend, and after I had a few beers, he invited me up to play some guitar with him. Played some good ol' blues. Was worth the embarrasment to see my wife smiling.

Anyway... enough of all that, go have some fun of your own!

    Three thumbs up ol' roommate

Keith....since you returned from Dallas, you've been all mushy and lovey dovey......how come? Did being away make you realise how important family was? I came back with the same attitude actually, but my reason was probably different. I spent some time with my sis and we drug up some really old memories that made me take another look at family and how important it is to keep close. We NEVER know if they will be here tomarrow.

Thanks dude for your positive encouragment.

( I still think you look goofy with that 10 gallon hat you bastard!)

Well, I have started another thread to answer the question that people have asked me on various threads recently: Why have you changed all of a sudden?

    Shotgun:

Thanks bud, I just love this camera phone!

    Ozzie:

I can just imagine that being said in that crazy Australian accent. You rock mate.

    Sassy:

Yep... we always need to keep our priorities in check. Definitely we need to show those close to us that we love them.

    Arrow:

Not sure about wise... for instance I don't think it was too wise for me to leave my suitcase unattended without putting a lock and security system on it in my hotel room! Just kidding, looking back, I laugh my ass off... . And young man? Nahhh, I tend to think of myself as chronologically challenged. From all the evidence (wife, 2 kids, full-time job, like taking naps, aching bones, etc), I estimate I am approximately 40 years old. I'll be laid up in my death bed by the time I am really 40. By the way, I love ya gal .

    Danny:

Thanks. By the way, it's great to see you posting mate. I respect all that you do to try to help people break free from the b0rg. Your family is in my prayers buddy.

    Gumby:

I think you are the reason for the change in me... All that love you showed me in Dallas had a profound effect on me... or at least a profound effect on my walk. Seriously though mate, you are right, we do need to show our love every single day at every given opportunity. Love like there is no tomorrow... because unfortunately one day there won't be a tomorrow for us. Love ya bud. And as for the 10 gallon hat comment, my wife has no complaints... she has now found the meaning of that phrase that was thrown around so much in Dallas... "Save a horse, ride a cowboy"!

    Confused:

<nods back> Thanks man. We are gonna have to have a Friday night chat session sometime. I'll bring a hollowed out cow, you bring the keg.

    Always in love.
