Occasionally, we get people joining the forum who already have an account here. Actually, one somewhat entertaining Brit has had dozens of accounts opened and then closed in the last few months.
Now I'm not referring to the old days when you might have found, for example, Simon and Simon 1 in the members list. This was just a strategy to up the number of posts that were available to a member to make and not regarded as a particular big deal back then.
No, I'm talking about the possibility of a long established poster, on any forum, not just this one, deciding to re-invent himself. Or, to put it more accurately, re-invent a part of himself.
Maybe he's an amiable guy generally who's just got pissy about something and decides he wants to have his say without compromising his otherwise pleasant persona on a board such as this. So he invents a new poster with which to vent his frustration.
So my question is this: Isn't the dual or triple role mentally exhausting? Does it take a devious mentality to be able to do this? Or is it as easy as putting on a new hat? (Ha ha)
And, apart from the fact that more than one account is verboten here, do you think it's honest to use more than one persona on the same forum in the same time span?
