  To please Jehovah, we surely 'must not sit in the seat of ridiculers.' Some ridicule godliness itself, but in these "last days,"

  former Christians who have become apostates often prove to be especially scornful in their ridicule. The apostle Peter

  warned fellow believers: "Beloved ones,...you know this first, that in the last days there will come ridiculers with their

  ridicule, proceeding according to their own desires and saying: 'Where is this promised presence of his? Why, from the day

  our forefathers fell asleep in death, all things are continuing exactly as from creation's beginning.'" If we never 'sit in the

  seat of ridiculers,' we will avoid disaster that is sure to befall them.

  Paragraph 7

  Unless we take the opening words of Psalm 1 to heart, we could lose the spirituality we have aquired through a study of the

  Scriptures. In fact, we could then go from bad to worse. Our downward spiral might begin if we follow the counsel of the

  wicked. Then we might associate with them regularly. In time, we might even become faithless apostate ridiculers.

  Obviously, friendship with wicked ones can foster an ungodly spirit within us and can destroy our relationship with Jehovah

  God. May we never allow that to happen!

  I personally take great offense at the insults coming from the faithful and discreet slave. After all, they have made their own enemies.

  Did you notice how many times the word "wicked" was used in paragraph 7? Twice! Yes, anyone that disagrees with the Society

  is characterized as wicked. Yes, not once have Brooklyn issued an apology for all the child molestation cases they have covered

  up. Not once have they apologized for the needless deaths over their confusing blood issue.

  I'm sick and tired of being labelled - and I'm active. I don't consider anyone here wicked, and this is in fact slander on the faithful

  and discreet slaves' part.

  I didn't realise that my dislike of liars, hypocrites, and child molesters made me wicked.

  You're right, their words are very offensive, especially considering where they're coming from.

  It is not only insulting but also very sad. I only have 2 witness friends left, (I have been fading for 12 months) I am honest with them when it comes up about by feeling toward the society. They will read this article and think of me as a ?ridiculer?.

  This is not only an insulting label but its purpose is obviously to prevent people like my two friends talking to those of us who no longer feel inclined to be brain washed! I will be so angry if this affects them. One, by best friend for 15 years is already ?wrestling with her conscience? over her contact with me. I am trying not to feel bitter but that would really push me over the edge. I have found myself curbing what I say around her and even saying things like ?I am not ruling out the possibility of coming back? just to prevent her feeling the need to stop seeing me!

  I really hate the way they control people.

  The WTS are past masters at the excercise of emotional control over their adherents. I use the term 'past masters' deliberately becuase they are well aware that they are losing control as a flood of knowledge reaches to every corner of the world through the Internet. In twenty years time the WTS will bear little resemblance to the lumbering Frankenstein it is today, just as it bears little resemblance to the Organization that it was forty years ago. It will change as an Organization, because like most fringe religions it eventually learns that in order to survive it must 'mainstream' its teachings.

  The thread that runs through all the WTS alter egos the past hundred years has been and is the motive of 'control', otherwise known to its adherents as 'unity'. This control is being daily eroded by knowledge, so it is hardly surprising that attempts are being made to stop JW's from educating themselves by means of 'apostates'.

  These words from the July 15th WT are the desperate squawkings of a group of yesterday's men trying hard to convince themselves that Armageddon will come before they are completely exposed as the theological Hobo's that they are, hopping from doctrinal train to doctrinal train in order to eke out a living.

  How about that for ridicule.

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

  My dad blamed everythin that has happened to me over the past years of being Borg-free to this issue. Job turn-over, divorce, long periods of unemployment, addiction, etc.

  Never mind the fact, that I didn't have a college education (the reason for my retail sales & management experience), I lacked social skills neccessary for interaction with non-JWs, inability to voice frustration and anger in a proper manner (I tended to blow-up, and not diffuse my anger positively), etc. etc.

  If it weren't for the Borg, I don't think I would have been half the mess that I became upon leaving, and am in the process of fixing.
