You can tell by their trying to control thought patterns now, that they're getting thigh deep in their own excrement. Pretty soon they'll be up to their eyeballs in it.

Farkle, I'd be interested in what you had to say re: G-jobbing.

It'll be interesting to see what comes of this article in the future!

    Maximus,

Your comment re: polarization at the Bible House brings to mind another article in the 8/1/1 WT--Drusilla Caine's 'Life Story'. On page 24 she relates her recollection:

The Bible lecture "Millions Now Living Will Never Die" proved to be a timely witness in our extensive territory. On May 14, 1922, Stanley Rogers, a relative of Pryce Hughes, came from Liverpool to deliver this talk ...
Then, as if we might have missed the irony of this statement, on the facing page we see a large reproduction of the very "Handbill advertising the Bible lecture 'Millions Now Living Will Never Die,' which I heard on May 14, 1922". Say what? Twice in this article (and in such a way that we simply CANNOT miss it, the irony of the fateful "Millions Now Living" talk is paraded across our minds. Is someone in Writing sending the friends 'clues'? (lol)

    Cheers,
Minimus (your little joke was not wasted on me)

No joke at all, RW. That's a sincere, heartfelt compliment.

Need to write you, hardly know where to begin.

    But I will ...

    CatSweetie,

: Farkle, I'd be interested in what you had to say re: G-jobbing

I've already written RW with what I know. The ball is in his court, but I doubt we'll see him mention this thing publicly. Besides that, I could be wrong, but I don't think so.

    Mustang,

    : dive for wt's & g's.

Isn't it funny that the WT Printing Corporation still uses a "g" when referring to Awake! magazines? The "(G)olden Age" was perhaps their biggest embarassment next to the "Finished Mystery" plus everything that Fred Franz wrote, other stuff that Clayton Woodworth wrote, what Joseph Franklin Rutherford wrote, Karl Klein wrote, Harry Peloyon wrote, and just about every other writer that wrote stuff for them, yet they still tag their Awake! rags and their Consolation rags with the "g" tag. The only good stuff that was written in my lifetime by the Corporation(tm) was written by Ray Franz and Ed Dunlap. No doubt they were roasted and toasted for writing good stuff. Honest stuff. Cults are like that.

I wonder if the average dub knows that "g" is a throw back to the "Golden Age" and I also wonder what the term "Golden Age" actually means. That was a lot of decades ago (circa 1917-1918 to start) and this decade is more of a "Golden Age" than any other in Earth's history. I wonder about stuff.

What ever happened to making "the truth your own?" Oh yeah, I guess that means accepting every utterance of the FDS as our own thoughts. In other words, DON'T THINK FOR YOURSELF! Imagine trying to leave if you believe that you can't and shouldn't have a mind of your own.

Rational you miss the point of this article; the society is not trying to ‘legislate’ belief.

The article is written to provide a clear-cut method of identifying, for quarantine purposes, those who “…advocate or insist on personal opinions…” at the congregational level i.e. “…a mature Christian must be in unity and full harmony…”, at least in appearance.

By promoting the Watchtower article, if anyone did harbor ulterior thoughts, the individuals effect on the congregation as a whole would be minimal.

Belief is highly over-rated when compared to cult conformity because drinking ‘spiked’ Kool-Aid or “shooting it out” with an alcohol and drug enforcement agency in Texas for example, is financially counter-productive and not an activity the smart cult would indulge.

This might be a little hard to enforce.

He does notadvocate or insist on personal opinions or harbor private ideas when it comes to Bible understanding
Just imagine having to take a lie detector test while being asked questions about your private ideas or personal opinions at the end of every meeting. Ultimate brainwashing and mind control.

"Just wondering what You Know's thoughts are on this WT article."

Sideshow Bob claims it's ok for him to harbor his private views so long as he only shares them with us apostate swine. If he tried 'sharing' them around his home congo, he knows he's toast.

Funny how we think of YK immediately, isn't it? Here's a bet: Mr. Divergent Thinking will make no comment, or will make a smartass remark. Whar hw WON'T dois admitt that this is aimed right at his sort of personal interpretation of prophecy.
