Mulan, what makes you think they wouldn't do this same thing in our own country??

I thought the same thing. What's to stop Al Qaeda members in the US or any country, taking hostages and beheading them?

The use of decapitation has been discontinued in part because of suspicion that the severed head may in certain cases continue to be alive to some extent and capable of feeling pain. Some evidence for this was gathered by studying the presence of death-related chemicals in the brains of beheaded animals. There have also been many apocryphal stories from France about the severed heads of guillotined persons that would change facial expression or move their lips. Certainly another major reason for the end of the practice of beheading is the violent and messy nature of the practice.- Wikipedia

Some executioners have the decency to just shoot their victims in the head, quick and painless. These a@#holes choose one of the most painful methods to make their victims suffer needlessly. If there is a hell and if it is hot then people like these deserve to go there.

I feel for this poor man and his family. I can only hope that some end will be reached and this acts of violence will end soon.

They started with Pearl then Burg they have the notice of the whole word now. I just hope no one bends to their terriostic tactics.

My thoughts are with this mans family, I can not imagine their pain and his knowing what his end would be.

This is why the terrorists will LOSE in the end. They threaten everyone who is not like themselves... which is most of the world.

    They will lose!

We should not cower in their brutality... their brutality should infuriate us even more! Giving in to their brutality is a selfish act of self-preservation. Giving in to their brutality will threaten even more people in the future.

Were the many sacrifices of D-Day for nothing??? Hell no! We are now free because of those sacrifices.

I wanted to add his name as the title of this thread omits it, I feel he is more than just a 'South Korean' putting a name with his suffering may help others see what his family has suffered.

Kim Sun-il was beheaded/murdered in a horrific manner by terriosts today. My thoughts and prayers are with the Sun-il family and friends.

They want to creat fear and terror and they are succeeding.

They've been wanting to do that ever since the 70's when this all started. Remember what Franklin Roosevelt said, "There is nothing to fear, but fear itself" ... fear can be debilitating. We need to stay focused and finish off those who would do us harm. Not negotiate, because they don't want to; not placate, because they will continue to make fools out of those who do; but DESTROY... utterly.

Kls I'm sorry I was not trying to comment on what you left out but it seems everyone. Sorry it seemed that way, it just seems that so many here ( the state where I live) say "the korean" had is head cut off and were not using his name. it was bothering while I was at an appointment earlier and people were speaking. I did not mean to direct my comment towards you. Everyone knew Burgs name and Johnsons, I just thought everyone should use his. Sorry, I truly am! Cassi

This makes us feel so sick! Having said that, I worry not about travelling, which we often do, but over the innocents who'll be dragged into the maelstrom that these evil extremists create.

You know it's sounds so harsh, but I have to agree....these people do not fear death at all, they don't want to negotiate....they don't want that...

I felt so bad for that Korean man....so bad, the way begged and pleaded for his life....but no matter what they negotiated this man would die no matter what...they have no hearts...they feel nothing. How do you reason with that? How can it be controlled? It will never stop.....unless something is done about them...and I have to agree with the above statement..
