You Blood Sucking Leeches !!!!!!

I hope you didn't take that personally,

I was watching CNN and they had a segment about how useful LEECHES were in the treatment of patients who had unclean wounds. If you applied leeches to the wound they would EAT all the pus,blood,clots etc and aid in the healing process.

I seem to recall that a good JW could not use this kind of treatment because it would be wrong to allow a leach to feed on your blood. Makes him blood guilty I guess. In view of the "new light"? about all blood fractions being OK for christians including from the four primary groups is it now OK for a leech to suck you????

In a secondary question if a mosquito starts to suck your blood and you do not kill him right away would this make you blood guilty and a sharer in his sins??? Would you have to turn the mosquito and yourself into a judicial commitee for a judgement call???

Should I call Bethel on this??? I really have to know.

Ewwww! I saw that too. I also saw how they use maggots to eat away infection in cases of gout, etc.

I do have to point out though that the thread title is very misleading-I thought it was going to be something regarding the Governing Boneheads!

It would be interesting to get their perspective on something like the leeches. Makes me wanna do some research.....

Perhaps we need a chart of which insects can feed on us and which ones can't. Maybe we need a 'Zoology Liason Committee' to help us out w/ these types of questions.....

I raised these points several times with different JWs and generally got the blanket statement of the animals all being part of the fall and they would soon return to their natural straw eating state- which did not help me in the slightest and left me feeling wholy dissatisfied and bemused and simply opened up other avenues of thought that redefined the God I thought I knew.

Did they ever answer the question of the dinosaurs? I can't remember the JW version of where the dinosaurs came from, did they exist only in the 6 days before man was created? And how could the dinosaurs eat blood and were those big dagger size teeth made for chewing through redwoods?
