    Universal Studios. . $70 a pop

    Stinky Pantz,

That is ridiculous isn't it? The kicker is that Universal has not been taking care of the attractions. We noticed that it was getting really shabby looking and worn around the edges. They have a lot of gall to be charging that kind of money.

Well I live in East Tennessee and there are lots of attractions and also the mountains here. I would be willing to host a visit from people here on the board, likewise there are lots of places in this country that i would like to visit, but cant afford the rising costs of lodging so I would love to go stay with other former witnesses and tour the sights.

    Too hell with Graceland,

Bite your tounge. I have tried 3 seperate times to visit that place. I have gotten so close too. That is my must see on my vacation.

Living in Southern California people always say they want to move here, especially when they come to visit for a week and they have so much fun. I constantly remind them that we have an enormous cost of living. The traffic is absolutely terrible, that is a reputation that we have absolutely lived up to. And our outlook on society is very different from the rest of the country, at least growing up here anyway.

I have had 4 friends who came out here to try and live, after the parties die down, it's too hard for them and they have left

Nope, lucky again I guess. Portland, OR is great to visit and most of the main attractions are free or cheap. The others I buy membership to anyways, so it's not a problem. The only $$ we end up out is for dining out.

Never thought about living near a major amusement park attraction, I'll bet it does cost you a bundle everytime guests visit. Actually, two questions, Why do you all have to go? And if they want you to go with, why are they not offering to pay? If you're feeling flush you could always say no thanks and pay for yourself, otherwise, it's a shame you have to spend big $$ to go see an attraction just to be with your guests...

When I lived in Kentucky we'd drive down to the Tennessee, Virginia, and Kentucky border, and take our quads out through the Daniel Boone Gap. That has got to be the most amazing county I've ever seen. It's beautiful. I have just rolls and rolls or film from our trips out there. But I'm a city girl so I love to visit but start itching to get back home to convience.

p.s. the moonshine aint too bad either ;)

Well Chevysntats, Anytime you want to come back for a visit to this area, just let me know. We will make you feel welcome. I also love the cumberland gap area. My family is from eastern kentucky and basically the whole eastern half of the state is hills and mountains. What part of Ky did you live in?

    cumberland gap area.

Is that what it's called? My cousins always called it the Daniel Boone Gap, perhaps I'm confused, I do that often. I lived in northern Kentucky in Florence. I loved it because it was still country, but only a 30 minute drive to the big city of Cincinnati. Oddly enough my favorite cousin from Kentucky is coming out next month to stay with me, and bringing some moonshine :)

Well Chevys, its actually called the cumberland gap, but Daniel Boone was the guy who explored the area and thats why you might have it confused. you probably traveled down the Daniel Boone parkway on your way down there, it has recently been renamed after a congressman and the local people are upset over this as you can imagine. Have you ever been to Prestonsburg, paintsville, pikeville? these towns are in eastern ky and are my old stomping grounds.
