I have read all of the books and I loved the part when Jesus appeared in the sky riding his horse and spoke the words of the past written in scripture all the while Satan's army was getting smooshed by His mere words. The best part I liked was the judgement against Satan by Jesus and the charges laid out against him for his crimes. I don't want to spoil much of the book, but I feel the books alligned perfectly with scripture. Why the rapture? There's a culteral reason for all that. It's coming from a Jewish wedding custom and I'll explain why. Remember the part Jesus said "I' will go and build a mansion and when I return, I will receive you unto myself"? Well the "mansion" he spoke of was a wedding house. In Jewish custom, the man makes a contract with the parents of the bride. (this is an old custom, dating back 2000 years ago and beyond, so you need to understand the history of it.) The bridegroom has to make some agreements with the bride's parents first and when the contract is finalized, the groom gives "gifts" that has to be his property or something made by his own hands or raised by his own hands. Something like lambs, or a donkey or something of value that is his. Then he returns home and announced to his father that he is engaged to be married. The next step is he has to build a wedding house for the sole purpose of his getting married. After he is done, he has to get his approval from his father first that the wedding house is indeed done. He must build it all by himself without any kind of outside help, nonewhatsoever. A difficult task, but it can be done. The land he builds on is usually given by his father who owns the land, either that, the groom will purchase one or rents the land from someone else. When he gets the approval from his father, he then brings his best man with him to go receive his bride. When he arrives there, if the bride is not found waiting and ready for him, the best man must then announced with a shout (a very important custom) that the groom has arrived and wishes the bride to come out and go with him. Make note of this, the groom by custom is NOT ALLOWED to shout for the bride, only the best man is allowed to do so, how this custom is brought about I do not know, but that's the way it worked at that time. When the bride comes out fully dressed and ready to go with him, the best friend follows them back to the wedding house that the groom had built and they enter it. For seven days they remain in the wedding house and they do not come out until the 7th day. In the house there's plenty of food and other needs to take care of the couple during that time. Then the crowd comes out from every nearby village, town and whatever they live in and they all crowd about together awaiting the bride and groom to come out. The groom comes out and welcomes everyone and then calls his bride to come out and announces, "Behold! My bride!" Then there's another celebration of more food, dancing, laughing and cheering and lots of congratulations to the couple and their parents. Now, how does this custom relate to Jesus and the wedding custom? Alot! Let me explain. First Jesus paid a contract with his blood on the day of Calvary, a contract signed with His blood. Long before Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead on the 3rd day, he told his disciples he would go build a mansion and he would return to receive each of us upon himself. So when he ascended to heaven, as we speak even after 2000 years later, Jesus is building a HUGE mansion, a wedding house, as in according to the custom. Remember when Jesus said, "No one knows the day or the hour of the second coming of the son of man, not even I know the day or the hour, but my father which is in heaven knows" Jesus spoke the truth, he won't know when he'll return except when the father tells him to return. The only day he'll know is when the father approves the finalization of the wedding house. When he receives the approval, he then will bring his best "man" or angel that is. My belief is he'll be bringing Gaberel with him. When they arrive for the bride (the body of believers), Gaberel I believe will be the one in scripture... 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Everyone will be raptured into the clouds to meet their groom and they all will then go with Jesus to enter the mansion (the wedding house) that Jesus will have built with his own hands. In there, they will remain in the mansion for 7 years while the 7 year tribulation on earth begins. Inside is a feast and they will have a wedding feast for the next 7 years. When the 7 years have passed, Jesus then will appear in the clouds from heaven and he will then announce his bride for all the world to see, his body of believers will follow him riding his horse as Jesus conquers the earth, defeats Satan and his army as well as all those that have accepted Satan's mark on their foreheads or forehands and assumes His throne in Jerusalem. Hope this helps clarify alot of things. Yiz

I read about 9 of them before I reached my gag level. I didn't believe a word written but found the first few entertaining. After the anti-christ was resurrected I just couldn't hold it down anymore and I quit reading them.

Since I had read the original book, I had a pretty good idea how it was going to end anyway.

Totally a scare tactic for the followers.

Did anyone see Six Feet Under a couple weeks ago when the woman saw the helium filled blow up dolls floating and thought it was the rapture? She got out of her car praising Jesus and was hit by another car and killed. It was hilarious.

    Big Tex,

Haven't seen the movies, but I've heard they really suck compared to the books. The plot takes several books to develop, so what you may term 'big holes' (which are somewhat evident in the book as well) are filled in later and make sense. Some of the books are a little cheesy in parts, but overall I found them quite entertaining.

LABD, interesting background on the 'rapture', by the way.....

That story actually happened a couple of years ago... Some jerk dressed up as Jesus, dressed up a bunch of blow up dolls in white gowns and stuffed them the bed of his pickup truck while netting them down. So he drives down somewhere on the street, stopped his truck, got out, grabbed a release string, walked a few paces, started waving at people driving by and then yanked the release string. The blow up dolls then floated up into the air while this jerk dressed up as Jesus was waving and smiling.. This caused some lady to see all this and stops her car. She then starts jumping up and down trying to go with "them", she ran out in front of a car and got killed in the process. I don't see this one dang funny about this since a caused a person to die in a accident. What makes me mad was this jerk never was charged with anything. So I bet this heartless jerk chuckled his way home. Yiz

Why is it scary for me as a follower of Jesus? I won't be here when the Trubulation begins because I'll be long gone. I am saved because I accepted Jesus' work on the cross and I accepted Him as my personal Savior and Lord. I'm going to be with Him celebrating on the wedding feast. I wish everyone on this planet earth could come with me, especially everyone on this forum. I'd hate to see anyone suffer during the Trib. But as it stands in scripture, it's gonna happen, both to new believers and unbelievers. I keep praying that everyone would take the opportunity to take a hard and long look at what Jesus done for each and everyone of us, the very heart of Jesus who loves each and every one of us. Who loves us unconditionally. But unfortunantly, not everyone will accept Jesus' love and many will die hating him for who he is. *sigh!* Yiz

Yizu, what about those of use Christians that believe no rapure will occur befor the Trib?

Personal opinion alert: I believe that the great falling away, may take place when The Antichrist assumes power prior to the Trib. That falling away, could be caused by those that put there hopes in a safety net doctrine.

    LOL IronGland!

Whether you are a post- trib or pre -trib, you believe jesus will take all those who have heard about him to the point of following him.

You fail to reason on the fact that literally BILLIONS of people haven't a clue about the man, yet he is going to smite them anyway. If he doesn't smite them.......they sure the hell aren't going to be taken up with the rest of the group who were fortunate enough to have gotten a "witness" about him. I think the whole idea is a disgrace to humanity to concieve of your fellowman in this fashion. How biggoted can you get?
