That's odd... when I showed up all of the attendants and the people in the administration office were very suspicious of me even though I had done nothing other than show up. They even assigned a guy to follow me around.
When I asked them why they said that it was very unusual for non-JWs to show up.
It would appear as though the article was a blatant lie and placed there for no reason other than PR.
The Witnesses go to interfaith meetings all the time. If other faiths are there, that defines interfaith, the Witnesses just have to sponsor them, that's all.
That looks just like a press release...small town papers (like the one I used to work at) rarely compose short articles themselves, but run press releases on them. We ran a chruch section on Wednesdays, and the JW releases were put in then.
