Tragic. I haven't heard this anywhere here, but don't doubt its accuracy. Some things that this country does, and approves of, just breaks my heart.
Well, Mulan. The US government has supported all the greatest bastards in the world. And, if a diktator didn't make it to become the diktator, the US has always been more than willing to help out by starting a "revolution", assasinate the ruler, or whatever. The only demand was, of course, that the diktator supported the US and let them do what the f*** they wanted!
What about Saddam Hussein? Whi trained him? CIA. Who supported him with weapons of "mass destruction"? The US, GB, Germany and France. Most of his chemical shit he got from the US to kill Iranian soldiers, because Bush Sr didn't like Ayatollah Khomeini. Ol' Rummy himself was in Bahgdad talking to Saddam as best friends and allies.
Who trained Bin Laden? CIA. Who trained his men? CIA. Where? In the US. Why isn't he captured? Well, maybe he is, actually - we'll se a bit later in the ongoing campaign in the US. Some repports imply so. But they actually DID HAVE HIM in the Bora Bora mountains. The US had enough troops, marines, airforce and all they wanted. BUT - they left it to Afghan War-Chiefs - who were their enemies just a month earlier - to capture him. WHY? Ask Bush, who started this war to get oil-pipes through Afghanistan from Baku. And he couldn't get that oilpipe with Taliban ruling.
The US history is a shame. What diktators and despots do they support today? Make a list, please. What diktators and despots have they NOT supported? That list is much, much shorter. Who assasinated the General Secretary of the UN in Congo? The US. Who assasinated the legal ruler of the country? The US. Who did put a diktator in power there? The US.
The list of what the US have actually done is so long I'm amazed any country will ever trust a US government ever!
