I have 3 different pipes and like to smoke the sweeter smelling tobaccos.
You ever try a meerschaum pipe? I got one a couple of months ago. The pipe is white but it gets a nice toasty color while you smoke it.

El, I love my old meerschaum. I got an "estate sale" one, a Petersen that's been so well smoked the bottom is brown now. It's chipped but smokes great. I am starting to prefer it over briar (and, yes, I like the lowly corncobs sometimes too). I think i've been putting enough hints in to my GF that I get a "Claw" meer for Christmas. I get my tobacco from the same store Jerry Lee Lewis does. Goodness, gracious.
