Amazing, I love your posts.. but on this one, I must say, MD is correct. You ego was more involved in this incident than your brain or heart. And maybe you meant to show that by posting this, I don't know. Maybe you see that now, and that is why you post your mistakes, so others can learn from them.

But definitely, the second visit to the "Worldly" home was harassment.
No doubt about it. And the JC meeting with immediate announcement reminds me of a Kangaroo court if I ever saw one.

I am agreeing with Mommie Dark on this one, though I would've worded it differently.

No means NO, maybe being women we are more sensitive to this fact!

I did wonder why she wasn't given her 7 day appeal time, if it was in effect at that time.

The bigger issue though, seems to be that you did what ALL 'good Society men' still do; they are overly zealous to punish the 'offender' because of personal rejection, etc etc.

    hi amazing,
i just wanted to add that i'm glad you posted this account even at risk of being critisized for your part. its important to share information even if it places an individual in bad light. my own opinion of you is that you felt you were doing the right thing. i can see where this could happen in any hall anywhere !! i wasn't shocked or appalled by the account. it just is another verification to me of how closely the JW's resemble the Pharisees. thank you for your courage to post. i always look for and read them. i'm sure that they may be helpfulto someone out there. i might add that i'm halfway through "crisis of conscience" and at times i find that i think Ray Franz was just as caught up in being powerful as the rest but his book is insightful and helpful beyond words. it takes courage to stand up and admit to being a party to situations and wrong descisions in an effort that it might help someone else. jurs

Amazing, you're really taking some heat on this one, and to a good degree it does look as if procedures were not followed, and I simply could not believe that the announcement was made without allowing a 7 day appeal period.

However, it takes courage to relate an account accurately, even if you look a little bad in the process. So thanks for the post, and it just goes to show that elders do indeed mess up at times.

Problem is, they never apologize for it.

Amazing, don't be discouraged by the words of these hysterical jezebels.

They have never been to battle, they have no idea what it means to look a person in the eye, and know that God may really want you to hand them over to satan.

They don't know what it is like to be approached by someone shaking and crying, upset to the point of collapse, over having sinned against God, and not only that, but also sinned against the whole congregation.

They have never had to look at a trembling human, yet keep your own human vision pure enough to see the stain of sin that will permeate the entire congregation if you don't do the dirty work, the hard, thankless work, of keeping the congregation clean from these besmirched ones.

I tell ya, we need to have a few parking lot hysterectomies. That'll shut the lot of 'em up! We'll give Lisa time to drop her current spawn first, then we'll be doin' her a favor. Her old man is black, and they breed like rabbits!

Seriously folks. Amazing told the story of how he acted in this situation. He did not say he acted correctly, in fact this whole series is about how incorrect the various "judicial events" are.

Did you somehow think that he had managed to overcome a flawed system, while he was (a long time ago) an elder? Did you think he was Christ for the witnesses?

Lighten up folks. We ALL believed that elders, while they would make mistakes and get things wrong, were the best scenario that GOD had to offer His congregation.

Having said that, let me just get this off my chest. I F****ing HATE elders. LOL, that felt good!

Hi Lisa: At first, you had me nervious as I read your post, not knowing where you were headed. I don't hate Elders, or JWs, or Cos, or Dos, or whatever. I just don't agree with or like the system that operate under. It is that system that is so corrupt and affects all involved, whether they sit on JC's or are on the Hot Seat being judged. I have posted a Supplemnt to Justice #15. Let me know what you think. - Amazing

    Hello Amazing,

as usual a very good story...although

    with the same, sickly ending.

    to Boozerunner:

"They also show that imperfect men, using the WTS guidelines are ill-equipped to render effective help when faced with with these situations.
And, if you have been reading posts that deal with how the WTS routinely covers up cases of child molestation when it comes to elders, it shows the double standard that is applied R&F vs. ELDERS.
That is in stark contrast to the scriptures which show that those in positions of responsibility are to be held to a high standard of morality, and therefore punished accordingly. Even secular governments follow this principle to some degree."

A very good comment, thanks for it.

    Greetings, J.C.MacHislopp

    Hi Amazing,
Your story is one that you would be extremely hard pressed to find an example of in the much maligned 'fundy' denominations. Everyone here loves to slander any evangelical Christian congo by comparing them to the WTS but their is a world of difference.
The WTS is a cult and it fits the title very well.
Fundys minister to people and serve them, they don't pry into their private lives or expect them to be anything but human.
    In His Name,
    Rex

    Greetings,
Boy did I see a power and control struggle going on in this story!
I'm most definitely with MD,Rcat,et al on this one! It was harrassment.
I can see the elders patriarchal pride was challenged/threatened by this girls action. The response WAS vindictive and served as a 'salve' for the elders wounded pride. THAT took precedence over evrything in this story. A young womans feelings and rights were so clearly violated . Regards,Tina
