    LW,

Apparently you go from 0-40mph in about 2 secs when you're shot out of the top of the gamma ray machine straight into a sidewides loop.

Dueling dragons was fun. A racing inverted coaster where the trains come within a few inches apart 3 times during the ride.

LW...there's nothing I won't ride... we did all the coasters!

    I'm a wuss ... I hate anything more thrilling than hook-a-duck.

Really, I do NOT see the attraction in roller-coasters at all.

    Simon,

Yeah, me too. Hubby wouldn't ride anything except the log ride. It is a boat that goes through a tame water way, climbs about thirty feet and drops. He did like that, but wont venture further.

(Oh, and I knocked him silly on the bumper cars) tee hee hee

Apparently, there is a coaster lovers organization that travels around the country and gets exclusive ride time on the coasters (ACE). One of the members disconnected her saftey-belt last year on the Raven and fell to her death. She stood up to get "air time"....

So I felt very nervous riding the same ride because of that. I can not say I enjoyed myself, it is not my idea of a good time. lol.

I thought that I had done something brave and unusual until I saw these other coasters. Egads!

Cedar Point is rollercoaster Mecca. They take Canadian at par for admission as well!

LW - I didn't realize that Holiday World had gotten so BIG! When I lived in Indiana, it was Santa Clause Land, and I don't think it was much more than kiddy rides.

<sigh> I still miss Indianapolis after all these years.

    I luv 'em!

I hope I never get too old to ride them. Unfortunately there aren't many "great" coasters in Oregon, so I would have to travel all the way down to LA to do the closest at Magic Mountain. The Revolution is a historic tubular steel coaster, the first one to do a 360 inversion. (Extra Credit Trivia Question: Does anyone know the name of the first tubular steel coaster?) Superman Escape still has some of the best air time this side of Krypton. I haven't ridden X yet, but would love to. The multidimensional aspect just boggles my mind! And then there's Viper, Collosus, Goliath, and so many other great rides!

Knott's Berry Farm has some nice coasters too and I love their down-home farm and western theme and they have the best food of any theme park in LA.

The Cyclone at Coney Island is a very famous woody. I would love to ride it just because it is probably the most historic old coaster in the world.

In the meantime, I play Rollercoaster Tycoon and design my own. (sigh) I can't wait for RCT 3 to come out this fall! It's going to be great!

I don't care for the splash rides as much, because I don't like getting wet, but I still ride them anyway. I just love them and wish they all weren't so far away.

Has anyone here ever ridden that new Godzilla sized one in Japan? That one looks scary to me.

I love roller coaster , waterslides, anything scary.

Just before my hubbie and I separated we went to the gold coast for the weekend without the kids, did wet'n'wild one day and movie world the next. Was fantastic had a ball.

Here's one of us on a waterslide. Was one of those pitch black ones where you can't see a thing.
