Las Vegas!

While I was traveling this past month, (25000 miles in five weeks), I flew to Las Vegas and spent the first week of July there with my favorite, and now only girlfriend. We had never been there before. What a great place! We stayed at the Luxor and hit every casino on the strip, saw shows, toured the Hoover Dam, rode all the rides, went clubbing every night until at least three AM, and slept about ten hours in five days! I'd go back in a New York minute! I liked it better than Paris and I had a great time there. I promished to take my girl back to Las Vegas for our honeymoon! She said she would hold me to it. Anyone else have a fun time in Vegas? Mav

As well-traveled as I am, that is one of the 3 states (Nevada) I haven't been to. We hope we can take some vacation time even though I have started a new job. Las Vegas is in the top 5.

Our whole office goes to Vegas every year.

My favorite Hotel is the Paris, last Feb. we stayed at the Venetian. I haved stayed at the Luxor, but only in the rooms, not the suites, and they have redecorated since I have been there. I hated the elevators.

But I am a Hotel snob.

There's nothing like Vegas, especially in the summer. 106 degrees during the day, around 92 degrees at midnight. Did you catch the water show at the Bellagio?

Funny thing about those elevators, never could stand at the correct angle. Everytime we got in one we pitched over to one side. Late at night, or early in the morning, we would start laughing when we got on and hit the wall! Saw Danny Gans, definitely worth the hundred bucks a seat! Not much of a gambler, spent less than $50, sucker's bet as far as I'm concerned. Danced, (yes I was a ballroom dancer), up a storm and really surprised my girl! Only thing I did not like was the hawkers out on the strip trying to hand you porno cards or the street pitchman trying to grab you to work some deal with you. I hate the hard sell and it ticked me off. My girl would just laugh at them and make jokes. After a while when they would ask me where we were from I would reply, "Mars, it's been on the news, where have you guys been?" They would just wave us on after that! Did the rides on top of the Stratoshere; Bigshot and Xscreem were very cool! Mav

I really miss Las Vegas. (Maybe has something to do with getting married there? ) Kate just got back from her vacation there (leaving me to slave away here )...

We're gonna hit one of the Indian-owned casinos here...can't wait to play those nickel-slots again...and hoping that Kate doesn't prematurely hit the pay-out button (a story for another day ).

Hey onacruse how are you? I asked my girl if she wanted to do the ring-thing and she turned me down...for now. We have kids in college and all so the timing is not right. But we saw a lot of people doing that though.

I was surprised at how few people responded to the title. I always wanted to "do Vegas" but the way the ding-dong duds act about anything "fun" I guess I should not be too shocked at people not even looking at the topic. Sure are a lot of stick in the mud, pissed off types here. And this is one of the best ex JW sites on the web, Thanks to Simon!

Many people dumped the "dud do" but still got trapped in the "dud do nots"! People need to get going! Mav
