Sure, it is no big deal. i have exchanged e mails with an elder . I suggested it to see if there would be a reaction, but no. Not at all. Any way, you need the net so as to check the Wt official site from time to time
Have you ever been asked by witnesses if you have the internet?

Studies show that by the year 2010, if not sooner, 95% of ALL households will have the internet in the home.
The fact is that the WTS is scared to death of the internet. Many witnesses will have access to all the info on the internet about the truth of the WTS, all in their own cozy home, without anyone knowing.

Its "internet access" or "internet service" Nobody has the actual internet.
I guess I am anal about this being an IT Support person. Forgive me.

The WTBTS now publish their web address on the back of the mags, so the internet can't be all bad.
The internet is the same as most things some good and some bad, it is up to you how you use it. When asked this in the past by our cong PO I just asked him if he buys things from Smith's (A large bookshop/newsagents chain in the UK) and if so does he know which shelves he can look on for magazines and which ones he would be uncomfortable with. Or does he avoid all bookshops because some things in them he doesnt like?
I think "Let the reader use discernment" might apply here.
Anglise (of the now use all the shelves class)

I was out before the internet got popular. I've never been asked, but when I wanted a modem for my Commodore 64, I was counselled on that. The WTS used to be against BBSes. I guess it was the same issue back then as well.

I live out in the boondocks in an area where the witnesses are paranoid about internet. Some of them will only use it for email and a handful of them in the congo believed that naked women and apostates would pop up unannouced in windows before you can stop them. By that time it would be too late because that image would be forever recorded in your mind and it could be the beginning of the end for your spirtuality. I kid you not. I tried to tell them this is not the case, but they viewed me suspiciously.

Dang, Cyber-sistah, I think we must live in the same area!
A lot of people here have internet access, but it not something they like to talk about. One elder even went so far as to ask me directly if I was involved in any online groups, chatrooms, etc., and what name I posted under. It was sort of creepy, and left me wondering what might have led him down that train of thought, maybe he was a troll here or something.
