Why would I, or anyone believe that a god who expects me to be so anal with holidays, doesn?t care about all the other stuff. The origins of Easter are 3000 years old, Children working in sweet shops, for big names like, TheGap, and Disney are today.. But god don?t care about them, he is more concerned with weather we celebrated the resurrection of the savior by giving our kids candy

dimonds come from Africa , and are mined by enslaved children, who work in some of the worst working conditions in the world. So why would god care to save us, because we didn?t celebrate Christmas because Druids used trees to worship there gods 5000 years ago, while we actively support killing children so our wifes can have shinny rocks.

One of the biggest diamond mines I ever worked on was at Orapa in Botswana. Most of the workers were well paid men of African origin with some of the best working conditions in Africa. I never saw a child or a slave working there. I think that you must be talking about something that went on 100 years ago.

But I get the point that you are making.

Wow, I have never know anyone to work in a mine , any ways not all mine are bad, I am thinking of the ones in Sierra Leone, were unless I am wrong, still using slave labor, and mostly children.

Please do a web search on Blood Diamonds.

Diamonds are used by rebels, terrorists, and dictators as a common untracable currency. Al-Queda, Hezbollah, hamas, etc..etc.. all use diamonds to finace their terrorists orgs.

Truely a horrendous mineral whose only true value is in industrial uses.

Diamonds are nothing but a MARKETING PLOY. There are MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of carrets mined every year. Miners sell them dirt cheap to DEBEERS who hoards them and artificially inflates the price 10000% (or more).

I wonder how many women on this board would want a diamond if they really new where it came from?

There are very few diamonds that do not come from Africa. There is a Canadian company mining company that opened recently. I'd try to buy through them.

[sitting on engagement ring] You make a good point, l3gi0n -- why would God sweat the small stuff when there are so many more important things to deal with? The way I believe is, he trusted me enough to give me a functioning, sometimes-useful brain, so I trust him that he intended for me to use it.

I think the answer was already in the question.

No, according to the fictional bible, 'Jesus' did not care about the little things. He rebuked the pharisees for plucking the straw out of they're fellow man's eye, when they had a rafter hanging out of theirs!

That is why the witnesses are dead wrong. They worry about little things, although they would never admit it to an outside source.

LOL At Shamus, you are on the money with this point. It reminds me of my commitee meeting, and I called all the Elders a bunch of Pharisees
