I tried all of them, including antidepressants. Now I use natural herbal combinations with more success and no side effects. I tend to have very bad insomnia and it took me years to find something that: really works, that isn't addictive and doesn't cost a lot.

If you want to know about the herbal products I have tried, with success, please PM me. Two of them can be ordered online and one can be picked up at GNC. All total they will cost less than most RXs.

Ambien works very well for insomnia with no or minimal groginess. It's not made to be taken all the time - It's fairly addicting in the sense that if you take it like 7 to 10 days in a row, when you stop you will have insomnia again without it.

But it works well if you take it only 1 or 2 nights in a row. I suggest going to bed early or give yourself a good 8 or 9 hours bed time.

It surpresses the central nervous system and you feel like you've had a few drinks when it kicks in. Take it 1 hr before you want to go to bed and Do Not Try to drive a car on this stuff :)

5Mg is enough - But 10Mg if you have a bad case of insomnia.

Also someone did mention free samples from your doc - He should be able to hook you up with a few ambien - they are a little expensive at least for me - $56.00 for 20 - 10Mg.

I got some recently as I was having trouble sleeping when I broke my hand. Most prescriptions I only $30 max but this wasn't covered Arrgh.

But some good Bud is the best, It does it all. That's why they won't legalize it. It would do away with the need for alot medicines.

Be VERY careful with Ambien. It is addictive, and it makes me hallucinate. I use a low dose of Remeron with no problems.
