    Great film.. I dont know why it appealed to me so much , but it did.. Nb . I always remember one scene , in the modern day part of it, Jeremy Irons works out that if there were umpteen thousand prostitutes reportedly working in Victorian London, then your average Victorian gent. must have had several extra marital f****s (his word not mine) per week.

    That always stuck in my mind and was perhaps my first inkling that these "Critical times" are not so different from the past after all .I checked some stats when I was seriously questioning dub teachings
