    Yes, folks, it does!

Just been watching Jeremy Clarksons Greatest Inventions programme.

It was all about how TV came to be and the impact that it has on our lives.

They did this experiment to measure a childs metabolism. Sitting doing nothing actually burns up more calories than watching the telly!

Apparently, everyone tends to fidget and make small movements when they are doing nothing. Remember wriggling at the KH? Well, when we watch telly, we tend to sit morionless most of the time, so we do put on weight simply by watching the box.

    Englishman. (Now 13 lbs lighter!)

Other sedentary activities, in addition to watching television, are endless hours playing video games and/or in front of the computer . I don't think that working ones thumb on games or hands on the computer burns very many calories.

Another factor in all of this is that in view of fear of crime (like kidnapping) and terrorism, more kids are being encouraged or allowed to stay inside rather than go out, run around and play like I did when I was a small child. In former days we kids could walk up to the park with a playmate or two and not worry. It's not so true these days. Parents may rather have their kids at home than make the effort to go outside to play areas to babysit them.

I was going to say, "no, it doesn't give off any 'fat-rays' but sitting on your arse watching it will not do you any good !"

The other thing is that people tend to munch while watching it.

Just think ... add up all the TV you watch in your life and then how many weeks / months or even YEARS that it comes to.

so I'm trying to put on weight..
I'm in front of the pc 6-9 hours a day, I watch tv 1-4 hours a day, I sleep 6-10 hours a day
I eat 3 full meals a day and always eat snacks (chocolate, sweets, coke) in between.
Admitedly I do exercise occasionally, but TV and the PC definately don't make me fat..
