I've never had that problem. I always get trousers with 32" inside leg and they're fine (I'm 5ft 6)

Just over 6' 4" here. I love being tall but I'd wager I have more bumps and scars on my head than most.
Cupboard doors hurt not to mention low basement ceilings!!!
