no matter what you think of the war - it did accomplish something - the removal of a dictator

Saddam Hussein was a slimeball, that's for sure.......but I'm not aware of anything that links him to 9-11. Bush SHOULD have gone after Bin Laden, seeing as he was behind it all, but I guess it's never nice trying to get rid of a friend of the family's.

Soledad....no, I have an answer you just wouldn't approve. I was sure you would have the answer for what ails Camarooon since you did bring it into the discussion and military ousting is not in your venue

Lets take a step back.If Bush wasn't the current president, then there would of been no war, the terrorists would not exist, and gas would be cheap. Is this the opinion of those that think one man is responsible for the state of the world's affair in the middle east?

I just can't believe that things would of been any better if Bush was not the president.Either way, no one man can prevent terrorists from causing great harm to all they oppose. It will take a common bond a united effort on the part of all nations to bring an end to this group of people who have declared war on all persons men woman and children of all nations.I did not vote for Bush.

Whoever becomes the next president will still have to deal with the bigger question of how to put an end to terrorism, this concerns us all.

thank you. this is my point exactly. war on Iraq didn't do it, so what's next?

sheila, why so worried about what I'll approve or not? I'm just another person with doubts and fears and concerns and some degree of skepticism about this administration's course of action. All I'm saying is if the US is in the business of removing dictators lets do the job well---get rid of all of those monsters. I'll be behind our government 100% if we do this. If not, then why so focused on just one dictator in one country? And why aren't we more on the lookout for Bin Laden? It seems like he doesn't make the news as often as he used to......

Holy crap......This now affects me personally. My S/O is leaving for a business trip today to NYC. He will be having one of his meetings in one of the four target buildings mentioned today on the news. I can't believe this...
