We got home from vacation today about noon and I am pooped. We caught the early ferry off of Orcas Island, and vacation is over. Now I am doing laundry and tomorrow have to clean the RV.
It was so much fun. Words cannot describe how wonderful it is to be with our children and all seven grandchildren for 12 days in the sun, having fun, sharing stories, beliefs, and food. We were joined by several others over the 12 days and it was just very satisfying to me.
Joy and Steve (Joyzabel and Jst2laws) were with us for over a week and their daughter flew in on Sunday too. My niece and her husband came for a few days and Sabine and Makena and their son too. The infamous Bakers were there (the fellow who revealed the Tacoma Dome parking ticket scandal, for those who don't remember the name) and their wonderful new boat.
All the crab you could eat, oysters too, and lots of other goodies. We even had a baby shower for one of my daughters in law who is due in two weeks.
It's not all peaceful, as in any family, but we all love each other and things have a way of working out. The kids all love each other so much..............that was fun to watch. One minute they are screaming and crying over one of them doing something and the next minute it's all hugs and forgiveness. Kids are great.
Our 3 year old grandson learned to ride his two wheeler, after insisting his Dad remove the training wheels. His big brother had a major bike accident yesterday afternoon, but no broken bones, just a scraped face and a little amnesia. We booked for next year and I am looking forward to it already. Why are vacations never long enough?
For the record..................I went to the local library and read this board, but was not able to post. Both Joy and I tried, but the public computer locked us out for posting privileges.
